By bike commuter from Olympia, WA on 05/05/2009 Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought these pants because I commute by bike in the Pacific Northwest, and my old rain pants were a little tired. A thirty minute ride in the rain left me with wet clothing. I would definitely go with another brand.
By Novice from Vallejo, CA on 04/05/2009 Pros: Lightweight, Warm, Waterproof Describe Yourself: Getting Started Inseam: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought these for tennis...to use as warm-up pants or for cool weather playing. The description stated they are breathable and waterproof, so I thought they would also be good for hiking in wet weather.
I took them on the courts for some early morning tennis and found the fit to be comfortable. They fit over my tennis clothes very easily without being bulky. The inseam was just right...many times they're too long. The leg zippers allowed me to take them off easily without having to remove my shoes.
The pants are light and packable, but I don't believe they're breathable. I cooked up a sweat pretty fast and had to take the pants off sooner than I planned even though it was still pretty cool outside.
You really can't beat the price for a lightweight, packable rain pant, but I wish they were truly breathable.
So glad I got these pants! By Rainy day walker from El Cerrito, CA on 03/22/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Durable, Lightweight, Waterproof Best Uses: Cross Country, Hiking, Snowboarding/Skiing, Walking in rainy weather Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Gear Usage: Walking for fitness Inseam: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I found myself walking in rain quite often this winter. Having purchased a lightweight & waterproof jacket from you earlier this year, I was ready to get a good rainy day pant that would keep me warm & dry. This one is perfect--it slips easily over jeans without feeling too snug or bulky. The pockets hold my keys & cell phone, keeping them dry. The zipper at bottom of pant legs allows me to put on/take off pants with shoes/boots on. I feel free to walk in any kind of weather, even in a storm, and know that I will stay dry and warm thanks to the great waterproof fabric & seaming. After my walk, I can hop into my car, whip off the wet pants and then drive away feeling comfortable in my very dry & warm jeans.
By Gayle the birdwatcher from Houston, TX on 03/14/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Lightweight, Packs compactly, Warm, Waterproof Best Uses: Backcountry, Birding, Hiking Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living, Rain wear Inseam: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These pants keep me warm and dry when hiking or going through brush while bird watching. The zippered cuffs make it easy to pull them on and off over hiking boots, while the elastic helps keep ankles dry. They are generously sized to wear over jeans or casual pants. Windproofing keeps the cold wind out on breezy days. A comfortable and practical addition to my outdoor wear.
By Helen High Water from Lafayette, LA on 03/09/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Lightweight, Stylish, Warm, Waterproof Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Inseam: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: In the end it came down to price for me. Almost all waterproof items I found in local outdoorsman stores were EXTREMELY pricey. This item may be thin (might be stronger than it looks), but at this price I can buy two for the price of another bought locally.
By out in all weather from VA on 12/31/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Lightweight, Waterproof Best Uses: Runningbiking in rain Describe Yourself: Advanced Inseam: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: They just fit over pants, elastic an ankles makes them a tad unfashionable looking but they are fine, keep me dry which was the point. I prefer a narrow straight ankle with zippers to elastic. Non adjustable at the waist, so if you are hippy order a size up for wearing over pants.
I would buy this product again! By Sue the Cyclist from Seattle, WA on 11/24/2008 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Durable, Lightweight, Stylish, Waterproof Best Uses: Freestyle, Hiking Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Inseam: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is great for putting over my pants before I cycle to work. Easy fit with just a zipper down- light weight and keeps my pant legs from the grease of my bike chains- great for wet NW weather-
By Cherie from Arroyo Grande, CA on 11/16/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Lightweight, Warm, Waterproof Best Uses: Backcountry, Cross Country, Downhill, Hiking, Snowboarding/Skiing Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living, Winter Sports Inseam: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I'm off to Iceland next month for the first time and I've been told that the wind and wet is constant there. I needed some good rain pants to pull on over leggings or pants and these are perfect. The zippers at the ankle allow easy on/off without taking off my boots..great! The pockets are nice, too.
I won't win a fashion award when I wear them, but I'll be dry and comfortable while out trekking over the glacier, out whale watching in the boat,
and climbing the cliffs in search of birds to photograph.
I would buy this product again By Walker Momma from Philomath, OR on 11/09/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Lightweight, Waterproof Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I use them for walking which we do at least 4 days per week even in the rainy Oregon weather. They are easy to pack because they don't take up much room. Since we don't need a lot of extra warmth most of the time it is easy to adjust the layering underneath to the weather. The one thing I wish is that they were a little looser through the hip area.
By Ellen the walker from Juneau, AK on 08/05/2008 Pros: Breathable, Durable, Lightweight, Waterproof Best Uses: Hiking, Power walking Describe Yourself: Advanced Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I really like this product. My only objection is I am a short lady and the legs are too long. Not sure how to shorten them. Outside of that, they are lightweight, easy to walk or run without feeling restricted.
