It not too thick and not too thin. It's just right.
By lvnh2o from Utah on 06/21/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Dries Quickly, Durable, Easy To Put On And Take Off Describe Yourself: Casual Athlete Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I purchased the Extrasport X-Tended Splash Top (women's) for whitewater kayaking. At 5'7" 130 lbs with a slim build the medium size fits well. When pulled down below the waist it fit snug across my 36" hips. It is well constructed, light weight, comfortable and allows for full range upper body motion. The neck and wrist closures easily adjust for a good seal and comfort. The chest pocket is large enough for essentials. The colors where described as red/white but I find the white to be more of a light gray. I found this product to be worth the money and plan to keep it for many years of use.
Well built but neck too small. By sooz from olympia wa on 06/09/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Durable Cons: Hard To Put On Or Take Off Best Uses: Colder Water, Paddling Describe Yourself: Casual Athlete Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: It was very well constructed except for the fact that the neck hole was too small. I had to really tug to get it on and off and I have a very average sized head. Great fabric, but I returned it.

Appears well built with nice features By reviews by kps from near Louisville, KY on 05/29/2009 Describe Yourself: Enthusiast Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Haven't used it in the water yet nor under exertion so I can't comment on durability (other than to say other products I have from Extrasport have been durable) and breathability but it appears very well constructed with nice detailing. Since the core fabric doesn't stretch it is a little snug getting on and off but I would NOT order a size up. Once on it fits nicely. Absolutely no restriction in arm movement. If you ordered up I believe you will end up with too much fabric around your middle (unless you have a big pot belly). I bought the large size. I'm 6'2 and 205-210 and have a few extra lbs in the chest and belly, my relaxed chest measures 44" (43" snug fit) and with full breath and flexed chest and lats it measures 47.5" and I wouldn't want to trade an easier exit for any extra billowy fabric around my torso. Once again I experience absolutely no retrictions in core rotation or arm movement.
TO EASE TAKING IT OFF: Instead of crossing your arms and grabbing the hemline to bring it up and over your head (this is a struggle), like I take off most my shirts, just carefully bring the collar up over your head and slide out - this works much much better and makes this a non issue for me.
UNLISTED FEATURES: There are reflective company names and/or logos on the upper and lower back, upper right arm, and the one you can see in the picture on the front of the collar. The pocket has a drain hole shaped like their logo (nice tough) and a key hook inside. The hook and loop closures at the neck and wrists have an extra piece of loop material in the gusset to secure the end of the hooked tabs when you don't want them sealed shut and this will help prevent floppy hooked tabs from grabbing stuff they shouldn't - like high performance synthetic clothing or lycra (one of my pet peeves).
The white might look dirty after repeated use but I really like the visibility and style and color combination so I decided to go for it anyway - not really a CON for me, I'll just do my best to keep it looking good.
I think this will be a great top for many years.
Have fun out there, be safe and courteous,
Keith

By Kayak Greg from Los Angeles on 04/27/2009 Pros: Breathable, Dries Quickly Cons: Buy at least 1 size large, Hard To Put On Or Take Off Best Uses: Boating, Paddling Describe Yourself: Enthusiast Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: It is a very good design for a lighweight paddling/spray jacket. But the size of my XL was skin tight. So if you plan on wearing anyting underneath it (waders, etc.) buy at least 1 size larger.
By Point 55 North from Funen, Denmark on 04/20/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable Describe Yourself: Enthusiast Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: A really good and more comfortable alternative to my drytop, works very well i rough weather too
By NH Kayaker from NH on 04/16/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Dries Quickly, Durable, Easy To Put On And Take Off Describe Yourself: Casual Athlete Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is the second item I have purchased made by Extrasport. High-quality items; you can't go wrong. The sleeves on this top seemed a bit long, compared to the other tops I have (made by other companies). I actually liked the length better. I have long arms, and with the paddling stokes, it works well. Very happy, yet again!
