great boots for summer or winter By pywhacket from Edmonton, AB (Canada) on 05/09/2009 Pros: Ankle Support, Comfortable/No Break-In, Great Traction, Warm, Water Resistant Best Uses: Cold Weather, Harsh Terrain, Heavy Loads, Long-Distance Hiking, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Casual/Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: My husbamd and I both bought these boots last summer before a camping trip. We didn't even break them in before we went, but our major full-day hike was blister-free. At New Year's, we took a trip to hike a frozen canyon floor, and the boots were just as durable and comfortable in the cold weather as in the heat.

Great value. Keeps feet warm even without socks (don't ask). I would have given them 5 stars but I've only had them 2 weeks.
By me first from Snoqualmie, WA on 12/25/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Stable Best Uses: Backcountry, Cold weather, Day hikes, Everyday, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I purchased these boots for my daughter. I've had a pair for a year and absolutely love them. Comfortable, great fit, quality build. She has only had hers for a few days but so far she likes them as much as I do.
By findtatyana from Atlanta, GA on 11/24/2008 Pros: Durable, Great Traction, Stable, Water Resistant Best Uses: Backcountry, Cold weather, Day hikes, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: took my feet a little while to get used to because they are heavy duty hiking boots with a strong sole and stiff shank. I have skinny ankles and they are very snug and therefore excellent at ankle support. Kind of hard to bend the foot all the way- still getting them worked in after a couple of walks.
By findtatyana from Atlanta, GA on 11/13/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Look great, Stable, Water Resistant, Well made Best Uses: Backcountry, Cold weather, Day hikes, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I like that the wrap-around design keeps water out and avoids bulkiness. Basically each shoe only opens up on one side and folds in rather than having an actual opening/tongue. Very comfortable with great hiking features: strong shank/ankle support/arch support. Not for thick-ankled hikers.
