Comfortable shoes, high quality leather By working mom in boots from Chicago on 03/09/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Great Traction, Stable Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought the shoes a half size larger as recommended by Sierra. They felt a half size larger, and I was thinking, that once again, I am going to have to return the boots and listen to a lecture about how you really cannot buy shoes unless you try them on... well I have flat feet, so I inserted my orthotics and lo and behold, the shoe feels great, fits well and looks wonderful. Nothing like Italian leather (crafted in Romania). I love the vibram soles. This is a great buy. I wear them to work everyday. The leather was a little stiff on the outset (especially around the ankles), but its already comfortable after a week of wear.
By Biddy from SECT on 01/21/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Stable, Water Resistant Best Uses: Cold weather, Day hikes, Everyday, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I was skeptical about ordering these boots at this incredible price and the other reviews indicated that they ran small so I ordered a half size larger. They are great, feel broken in already and have been very useful in all of this snow that we are experiencing right now! Great value too!
Feet never felt so warm/comfort By Beth the northerner from Stratham New Hampshire on 01/20/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Stable, Water Resistant Best Uses: Backcountry, Cold weather, Day hikes, Everyday, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: My feet are always cold but not with these boots. The tread is amazing as well. Been through -9 degree weather and 16" of snow, it was like walking on clouds. I hope to keep them forever.

By Rhowdy from Hinesburg, VT on 12/29/2008 Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I haven't really the chance to break these bad boys in yet, but contrary to the other reviews, I think these boots are made true to the size. I ordered, as recommended, a half-size larger and I think they may be too big. Again, it is snow-covered here now so I will not truly know how I feel (and they feel on me) until the spring. I got them on sale at a great price for leather boots. This is my first time owning leather boots as well. I will write another review when I really get them worn in by hiking a few peaks of the Northeast.

By Tom Boy Jane from Minneapolis ,Minnesota on 12/08/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Stable, Water Resistant Best Uses: Backcountry, Day hikes, Everyday Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Sizing: Feels half size too small Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: very comfortable durable shoe but needs the ankle area broke in.
Well-made but heavy and uncomfortable By Outdoor Family from Ohio on 11/25/2008 Best Uses: Cold weather, Everyday Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: These seem to be well-made boots of nice leather and a tough traction sole but when I put them on, they felt like I was wearing concrete blocks.
I wore them in my house for just a few minutes and my lower back started to hurt. There isn't any cushioning in the removable insert. It is a hard cardboard material.
I am sending these back and trying Kamik Brooklyn winter boot instead.
By Amber from Northern Virginia on 11/17/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Stable, Water Resistant Best Uses: Backcountry, Cold weather, Day hikes, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels half size too small Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These boots are very easy to break-in. They are very comfortable and water resistant. I actually walked through a stream and my feet stayed dry.
