By Marcy from New Jersey on 11/16/2009 Best Uses: Living Room Patio Door Describe Yourself: Midrange Shopper Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This product was exactly what I was looking for to keep out the cold air without having to replace my curtains. I bought a double curtain rod so they hang behind my current curtains. This way I can move them out of the way to let the light shine in during the day.
By Anjul from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada on 11/10/2009 Cons: Bulky, Too stiff, Unattractive Best Uses: Bedroom, Large Rooms, Small Rooms Describe Yourself: Midrange Shopper Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: These would definitely do the job of blocking light but I found them unattractive from the outside - too stiff and they did not hang nicely between the curtain panels.
By Anjul from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada on 11/05/2009 Pros: Durable, Easy To Install Cons: Poor Design, Too stiff, Unattractive Best Uses: To keep light out Describe Yourself: Midrange Shopper Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I wanted to use these as room darkeners behind the beautiful faux ming silk panels I ordered from Sierra. These panels are too stiff, do not fold well into the other folds of the other panels. They would be great to keep the light out but I feel they are not attractive from the outside and they are too stiff.
I would buy this product again By Fox River Rat from McHenry, Il on 10/11/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Durable, Easy To Install Best Uses: Bedroom, Large Rooms, Small Rooms Describe Yourself: Midrange Shopper Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Easy install, make sure your hardware is secure
they do add weight to existing curtains. Curtains lay nicer and block light. Touch up light iron on gray side only.
By Sewing Grandma from Michigan on 10/01/2009 Describe Yourself: Budget Shopper Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I used these to line the new drapes I made for the bedroom. I actually sewed them to the drapes. We have an old house with old windows. These really help in keeping out the cold.
By S1998B from Cleveland, OH on 09/13/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Durable, Easy To Install, Very Affordable Describe Yourself: Budget Shopper Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Drapery liners for grommet top drapes are usually more expensive - not these! These are well made, super easy to install and VERY AFFORDABLE! Well worth the money.
By Mrs. P from Dolores, CO on 04/21/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Durable, Easy To Clean, Easy To Install Best Uses: Bedroom, Large Rooms, Small Rooms Describe Yourself: Midrange Shopper Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These curtain liners are high quality, at a great price. My husband is a police officer, who, when working the night shift, needs total sun-blockage...these liners deliver. As a seamstress, I am also very particular about stitching quality and durability. This product meets my high standards, and is a great price...Just like everything we buy from Sierra Trading Post!
A good idea for old windows By Anne in the Garden from Lehigh Valley, PA on 04/14/2009 Describe Yourself: Midrange Shopper Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Well, these aren't the most attractive things, but they are meant to line the "prettier" curtains, and they do a good job. Cuts down the drafts, and I'm hoping they cut the cooling bill in the summer when we hang them in the west facing windows. These are also a great price - I've seen them for twice as much.
My only real complaint is that they are sold individually - while curtains always, always come in pairs. (The description is clear on this point though, so it's really a complaint to the manufacturer.)
Commonwealth Blackout Curtain Liner By la Française from Madison, WI on 03/29/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Durable, Easy To Install Describe Yourself: Budget Shopper Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Love these. Bought the ones specific to grommet curtains and they really make it dark AND they insulate. Great!
