By Starkite from Schaumburg, IL on 08/17/2009 Pros: Soft like down, very warm, Well Made, Zipper works smoothly Cons: NARROW, Tight fit into case Best Uses: Backpacking, Camping Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Great for camping. Was a bit too warm for the summer but will be looking forward to using it during the fall season.
By Steg from Northwood, NH on 08/09/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Lightweight, Nice loft, Warm Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Sweet bag and a great buy. Good to 15 degrees F, below 0 if you keep some cold weather layers on, and I can compress it down to about 8" X 10" with a compression sack. Nice.
By matt from st.louis,mo on 07/10/2009 Cons: Bit on the heavy side Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: a great deal for the money wish it had a compression sack and a couple of minor things. but for the cash a great deal. I bought the long version of this and im 6'1" and it fits like a glove.
By Babs from WI on 07/09/2009 Pros: Incredibly warm, Rolls up compact, Very Light Weight Cons: Little narrow at feet Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This was a great value. Very warm and yet light weight. perfect for mountain hiking.
By J.V. from Amarillo, TX on 07/08/2009 Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I got this bag to go camping at a national forest campground. It got down to about 40 degrees, and I was fine with the zipper mostly open. I'm sure it would have made it down to 15 degrees without an issue. In general it is high quality (although the lower zipper pull is cheaper than the upper one). It includes a stuff sack, and stuffs relatively small. I wouldn't have a problem backpacking with it.
The shape of the hood is kind of weird. It seems to be too big and comes over your eyes too easily. I also have a North Face bag, and that one has a much better hood.
Warm & comfy - a bit on the heavy side By Backpackin' Mama from Pagosa Springs, CO on 07/03/2009 Best Uses: Backpacking, Car Camping, River Trip Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Bought this for backpacking but will probably spend the $$ for a lighter, more compressible bag. There's nothing wrong with it; it just takes up about half the space in the main compartment of my pack, even with a compression sack (buy a Med., NOT a Small for this bag). Would be terrific on a river trip or for car camping, or a short pack trip if you don't have too much else to carry.
By just a guy from Nordland, WA on 06/21/2009 Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: We bought this sleeping bag for our son so that we can all go back packing. He has used it a couple of times and he has been warm. It is a great price and a fine bag to take hiking. It is a great starter bag, but if he continues hiking he may want to get a more compact one. It is big enough that he will be able to use it probably into adulthood. We recommended it to my father-in-law and he ordered one also!
By Handstand from seattle, wa on 06/10/2009 Pros: Easy zipping, Lightweight Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: i used this bag in the alpine wilderness camped on a snow bank and it did me justice. there was no problem when the foot end got a little damp because i couldn't feel it.
By camping dad from san diego on 06/09/2009 Pros: Build Quality, Great Value Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: [...] This bag is essentially a Trestles bag (retail [$]). Bought both the long and regular model and both are high quality. Includes a zippered pocket on top for small items. I am very happy with my purchase.
