By Hiker chick from Chicago, IL on 07/21/2009 Pros: Compact, Durable, Versatile Best Uses: Backcountry Camping, Campgrounds, Day Trips, Road Trips Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is a great little set. Just know that the compass is not the sophisticated kind that you need for navigation - maybe could be used as an emergency/backup device in case your good one breaks. Penlight comes with a battery already in it - that's always a bonus. Seems to have everything we could possibly need in terms of basic tools for the backcountry.
