Freat shoes but a tad bit small By No Nicknames Please from Washington DC on 04/02/2009 Pros: Breathes Well, Comfortable, Durable Best Uses: Business Casual, Casual Wear, Travel Describe Yourself: Comfort Driven Sizing: Feels half size too small Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Like other Keens these are great for people with broad forefeet. They are a little small relative to size (so order up for more comfort, if you normally need a very broad shoe). They're a little complex at first getting on and off, but only at first. They'd be great travel shoes, and are good for most work situations that don't require formal wear.
By Hobbit from Denver, CO on 03/18/2009 Pros: Breathes Well, Comfortable, Durable, Looks Great Cons: Slippery insole when wet Describe Yourself: Comfort Driven Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Well these were almost perfect. Recent trip to puerto rico, wanted just one shoe, good for walking and hiking, that could be gotten wet. Problem for me was the Leather lined insole was too slippery when wet, though comfortable at all other times. Wife loved them! And of course then there's the Hybrid heel issue... I'm not a big fan of the "slid" shoe, so for me I'd prefer the support of a real heel. Overall, big plus was the "Meshed Sandal" which keeps the trail grit and gravel out, and so met 90% of our requirements.
By Admancorb from Las Vegas, NV on 03/14/2009 Pros: Breathes Well, Comfortable, Durable, Lightweight Best Uses: Every day shoes Describe Yourself: Comfort Driven Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Bought these somewhere else, but wanted to let you all know these shoes are awesome. The price here is much better than [...] or [...]. Don't worry about the soft heel cup and strap. It is comfy.

By Colorado Hiker from Boulder, CO on 12/23/2008 Describe Yourself: Comfort Driven Sizing: Feels half size too small Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Probably best to order a half size larger than usual.
I would buy this product again By Keen Guy from Wisconsin on 12/22/2008 Pros: Breathes Well, Comfortable, Durable, Lightweight, Stable Describe Yourself: Comfort Driven Sizing: Feels half size too small Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: My wife and I are Keen fans, and this shoe doesn't disappoint. The spandex back with the sling takes a little to get used to, but I found if I raise the sling over the spandex it fits great and doesn't slip. When I'm just slipping on my shoes and running in and out I like that I can move the sling to the front and I can make the spandex sit flat like a mule type shoe to just slip on and off.
Perfect right out of the box. I would wear them every day if I could.

By KoKo the Talking Ape from Denver on 12/09/2008 Pros: Breathes Well, Comfortable Cons: Hard heelstrike, No Arch Support, No rear foot support Best Uses: Casual Wear, Travel, Water sports Describe Yourself: Comfort Driven Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These shoes have no heel counter (the hard shell that cups the heel in most shoes.) When running, your rearfoot will wobble all over the place. And for me, there is very little arch support. So that means these shoes are a no-go for any kind of running or even heavy walking. These are not trail shoes.
Instead of a heel counter, they have a kind of strap attached by two elastic cords, kind of like a slingshot. They add nothing to increase support, and they can flip up to block your foot when you are putting the shoes on. Gimmicky and inconvenient.
But unlike other loosey-goosey shoes, these have a rather firm midsole. In particular they feel hard in the midstrike. These aren't soft, cushy shoes.
They have a little label saying "Waterproof", though they are made of mesh and will let water in like a sieve.
The laces are elastic. You don't tie knots in them like regular shoelaces. You just tighten or loosen them with a little sliding clamp, similar to that used in jackets for their waist cords. The elastic cords make it easy to take the shoes off, but it is difficult to snug them down enough to make them feel secure. When you pull on the laces, they become too tight in the toe, but not tight enough in the rearfoot (for me.) I might cut them so that each shoe would have two laces, one for the toe and one for the rear, a la Kaepa.
These shoes are apparently meant for water sports, but the insole is their usual one (with a leather-like synthetic lining) that will absorb water like a paper towel. Also the sole is chunky, as if made for trails. They feel like a good strong current would pull them off your feet. They feel much less secure than most Tevas, for instance.
So I don't really know what these shoes are for. They don't seem really great at anything. They are comfortable enough if you don't mind the hard feel and lack of support. I might try them with some heat-moldable insoles to see if the arch support improves. If not, they are going back to STP.
not so keen on these keens By kkstring from Butler, Pa on 12/09/2008 Best Uses: Casual Wear, Travel Describe Yourself: Comfort Driven Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I have had several pairs of keens and these ones are not Keen-worthy. They have no heel support side to side. I LOVE all my other Keens though
