A great comfortable ride. By Jon, Clysdale Division from Northern WIsconsin on 10/14/2009 Pros: Absorbs Shock, Breathable, Comfortable, Flexible, Good Traction, Lightweight, Stable Cons: My feet get a little cold Best Uses: Gym, Pavement, Track, Trails Describe Yourself: Competitive Athlete Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: A great shoe, but the breathable mesh on top allows my feet to get wet easily in inclement weather or when running on wet grass or trails. It can also be a bit cold when running in the winter.
Use for track and long runs By Bug Doc from NE OHIO on 10/04/2009 Pros: Absorbs Shock, Stable Describe Yourself: Competitive Athlete Sizing: Feels half size too big Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Was fitted and purchased these at the local running store and bought a pair when they were a new model 08' ([$]). Not that I can attribute my healing to the shoe but a side-pain issue associated with running has now gone away. Based on that, I'm buying a couple of pairs at the discounted price. I do speed work plus long runs (18+ miles) without issue. As another reviewer commented, you can feel the stabilization on your foot, but it hasn't bothered me. Be aware that they run at least 1/2 size small.

Saucony Progrid Guide Running Shoes (For By Musical Runner from Nashville, TN on 08/18/2009 Pros: Absorbs Shock, Breathable, Good Traction, Lightweight, Stable Best Uses: Gym, Pavement, Track, Trails Describe Yourself: Gym Rat Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Loved the shoe with the exception of the uncomfortable support which rubs toward the rear of my arch. I bought two pairs just to see if the first was a defect. I could not put up with the discomfort and returned both pairs. My arches may be the issue with this shoe; I wish that I could have kept them.
Saucony Progrid Guide shows the way By nightswimmer from Roswell, GA on 08/17/2009 Pros: Absorbs Shock, Comfortable, Stable Describe Yourself: Competitive Athlete Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Recommended by my coach to correct some extraneous foot motion. I'm putting in about 45 miles a week, mostly in the Saucony Guide. At the rate I'm going, I will have worn out my first pair of Guides and need to put a second pair (this purchase) into my rotation to have them properly broken in by my target race, the Chicago Marathon. I am _very_ picky about the fit/feel of my shoes and these felt great from the moment I put them on.
These shoes are a little heavy (not necessarily a bad thing in a trainer) and I've noticed that I'm retaining more foot perspiration but cannot say if the latter is due to any fault of the shoe or just lots of miles in August in the South.
I'd buy these shoes again in a heartbeat.
