By cold-in-winter from Columbus, Ohio on 01/29/2009 Best Uses: Cold Weather, Everyday Wear, Snow Sports Describe Yourself: Frequent Exerciser Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Fit is a bit odd. M fits my waist but legs are too long. So I turn them under for extra ankle warmth.
Very roomy knees. Might be bulky under some outerwear pants.
So I wear them over other underpants around the house, thermostat set low.
By Toni from Fort Collins, CO on 01/29/2009 Best Uses: Cold Weather, Hiking, Snow Sports Describe Yourself: Frequent Exerciser Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Very warm. A little tight around the ankle, but no big deal.
By Riding Lady from Pine Lake, MI on 01/25/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Lightweight, Moisture Wicking, Soft, Warm Best Uses: Cold Weather, Hiking, Snow Sports Describe Yourself: Frequent Exerciser Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I do daily outside work around my farm and regularly visit the unheated barn where I board my horse. These thermals are great. Absolutely true to size plus Malden Mills TRUE fleece. You will NOT be disappointed!
By Mountain Gal from Montrose, CO on 01/21/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Lightweight, Moisture Wicking, Soft, Warm Best Uses: Cold Weather, Everyday Wear, Hiking Describe Yourself: Frequent Exerciser Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: The thin "thermal" long underwear just doesn't do it in this climate, at this altitude (5820 feet) in the wintertime. These are toasty warm, and just wonderful!
By Jesse from Geneva, OH on 01/21/2009 Cons: Pills easily, Poor Fit, Too bulky Best Uses: Cold Weather, Snow Sports Describe Yourself: Occasional Exerciser Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Poor fit - too high in waist, low in back. Pilled after one wear. Too bulky to wear under anything but sweats.
By Sue from Mt. Holly, NJ on 01/17/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Soft, Warm Best Uses: Cold Weather, Hiking, Snow Sports Describe Yourself: Conditioning Exerciser Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Under clothing for cross country skiing, show- shoeing or hiking. Can use to sleep in as well;) Warm for those extra cold days.
By Bargain Momma from Ann Arbor,MI on 01/14/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Soft, Warm Describe Yourself: Frequent Exerciser Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I was looking for clothing to wear for indoor exercise, but also something that I could wear around the house. I thought these would be perfect...
I usually wear a size 12 in pants, but after reading the reviews, I decided to order up, to a 14-16. Am I glad I did! As others have mentioned, these are pretty flat in the butt, and I also found the waist to be tight. The length was fine.
The reason I'm not returning them is that they feel very nice against the skin, and are warm. I've worn them to shovel snow several times, and have not been cold at all (even in Michigan!).
By superiorgem from Duluth,MN on 01/14/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Lightweight, Moisture Wicking, Soft, Warm Best Uses: Cold Weather, Snow Sports Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These will be great for cross country skiing as a base layer and also the transitional seasons when an extra layer is needed. They are super soft against the skin and the micro fleece lining is the perfect insulator - warm and lighweight. Nicely made also.
By Poppy from SF East Bay, CA on 01/14/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Lightweight, Moisture Wicking, Soft, Warm Best Uses: Cold Weather, Snow Sports Describe Yourself: Occasional Exerciser Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Wear these around the house, to bed as pajamas, and out and about under regular clothes when we have a real cold snap.
Material snags more easily than fleece does, otherwise they would be perfect as all around everyday outer wear, too!.
Very soft, able to handle my 'hot flashes' and perspiration without any problem, never feel 'soaked' like with regular cotton blend long underwear.
By Masha from Downers Grove IL on 01/14/2009 Best Uses: Cold Weather, Snow Sports Describe Yourself: Occasional Exerciser Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Bought these for skiing. Very warm and comfortable. Overall happy with this purchase.
drawbacks
They are almost like sweatpants they are so thick. The material feels cheaper than a nice set of light or medium weight long underwear.
