By Joe from Mammoth Lakes on 05/20/2009 Pros: Breathable, Lightweight Cons: Danier bleeds on boots, Material rips easily, Not Enough Pockets or Features Describe Yourself: Competitive Athlete Inseam: Feels true to length Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: If you plan to use these pants from skiing, x-country, randonee etc.. any sport that uses two edges... BEWARE! The inside ankle pads are made of very light denier material and will cut like butter if an edge is run across it. Also, the black denier material on the bottom of the cuffs will bleed onto your boots, making cleanup a pain in the a_ _! Don't buy these pants just because they are inexpensive and made of Gore-Tex.
I would buy this product again By taigi from seoul, korea. on 04/20/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Durable, Stylish Best Uses: Backcountry, Hiking Inseam: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I will use this product for winter backpacking.
Excellent product!!
By outdoor nut from bridgewater, ma on 04/05/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Durable, Waterproof Cons: Not Enough Pockets or Features Best Uses: Backcountry, Downhill, Hiking, Mountaineering Describe Yourself: Advanced Inseam: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: -the full side zips make these pants great for getting them on and off with crampons
-it would be nice to have just one pocket. there are none.
-a bit baggy in the butt area. they don't look all that fashionable on the ski slope, but they are extremely functional in the backcountry, ice climbing, and general mountaineering-
-the suspenders seem to make the pants ride up a bit, but the flexible waist makes it so you don't really even need the suspenders.
By teleskier from Bozeman MT on 02/11/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Durable, Lightweight, Stylish, Waterproof Best Uses: Backcountry, Downhill, Snowboarding/Skiing Describe Yourself: Advanced Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living, Winter Sports Inseam: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I love these pants, they are exactly what I was looking for in waterproofness, and comfort. They breathe which is huge. I teach outdoors all day, and needed something that could go all day and keep me dry, and warm. I also ski, and find these really comfortable. Great!
By Geoff from Seattle, WA on 12/22/2008 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Durable, Lightweight, Stylish, Waterproof Best Uses: Backcountry, Downhill, Mountaineering Describe Yourself: Competitive Athlete Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living, Winter Sports Inseam: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Great pant. After reading all of the reviews you would be fooolish not to buy these pants at this price. Great for skiing, the inseam is a bit long for a short guy like me but that makes them fit a bit higher on me and prevents snow down your back. Great high quality ski, climbing, snowshoeing bibs!
By beastte from Shanghai, China on 12/16/2008 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Durable, Lightweight, Stylish, Waterproof Cons: Not Enough Pockets or Features Best Uses: Downhill, Hiking, Mountaineering Describe Yourself: Advanced Inseam: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Breathable, waterproof after i slipped, my knee down into a creek and stood up, nothing happened!
Tough, strong, i got several scratches climbing rocks up and down, just one light nick left on knee position. Totally satisfied with this pant.
By The Justinator from Southern Oregon on 11/28/2008 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Durable, Lightweight, Warm, Waterproof Cons: Not Enough Pockets or Features Best Uses: Backcountry, Cross Country, Downhill Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living, Winter Sports Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Over all an outstanding product. The sizes are a little miss-leading as the length was significantly shorter than other brands listed as the same size.
However, I am 5ft 10" and the length (inseam) was perfect. So if your an average to shorter person, go for these! The material is some what light though seems quite tough. The removable gators are a nice feature, but they are pretty much the only feature: no pockets, no clips. Just a simple zip down shell for your legs. So all in all they are fantastic pants. I love their simplicity and ability to easily go over the pants I'm wearing and without feeling like i'm a walking ball of insulation. Highly recommended. (just remember, the're a little short. but even if I were taller, I'd buy these and just use gators to increase the length.
Just what I was looking for By Goat snake from Seattle, WA on 08/25/2008 Pros: Breathable, Lightweight, Waterproof Best Uses: Backcountry, Downhill Describe Yourself: Advanced Inseam: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I got these with backcountry skiing in mind. They fit great, and they're obviously designed with breathability in mind. I have concerns about the durability of the fabric because it's so light, but no issues yet.
excellent garment.....however..... By r.a.s. from colorado springs, co. on 11/23/2007 Pros: Breathable, Durable, Lightweight, Warm, Waterproof Best Uses: Backcountry, Cross Country, Downhill, Freestyle Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: i'm 5'10" 155lbs blue slope skier
waist feels good, not too high, or too low. ample hip and leg room for light thermal underwear and xcr gortex feels nice and light. only gripe is length. feels like 30" to 31" max, especially with suspenders. if you"re 5'8" or shorter buy three pair.
By UT student from Austin, TX on 10/28/2007 Pros: Breathable, Durable, Lightweight, Look Good, Waterproof Best Uses: Backcountry, Mountaineering, Skiing Describe Yourself: Advanced Inseam: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: The fabric is durable like my Marmot Cerro Torre jacket and it is breathable. I can comfortably wear my baselayer, a fleece midlayer, and my Montbell insulating pants under these. With the suspenders on, the pants feel more like a 30-31 inseam than a 32 inseam. I'm 5'9'' with a 32 inch waist, and the 48 size pant fits just right.
