Always my first choice... By dlk33 from Madison, Wisconsin on 09/16/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Good Design, Regulates Temperature Well, Wicks Away Moisture Best Uses: Backpacking, Daily Use, Disc Golf, Hiking Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Ever since I discovered SmartWool socks, they have been my go to sock when the weather starts getting a bit nippy or wet. I wear them in the winter with casual low hiking shoes when I run errands, and I wear them with my waterproof low hiking shoes to play disc golf whenever the ground is wet or when it's too cold for lighter socks. They do a good job of wicking away moisture, they are comfortable & just the right thickness for my activities. They are a bit expensive, so I usually wait until I can find them at a bargin price, which I did. They are supposed to be seconds, but I haven't noticed anything that makes much difference.
Most everyday socks need to be replaced after about six months, I've had a couple pair of SmartWool socks for over two years now & they still have life left in them after going through the washer & dryer many times over.
By dog lady from Cuyahoga Falls OH on 09/12/2009 Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I wear a 7-1/2 shoe, and ordered the size 7-9 socks. They were huge...over an inch longer than my foot with the heel in place. They seemed pretty average as Smartwool socks go. I returned them.

I'd buy them again when they wear out By hiking doc from Hood River, OR on 08/26/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Good Design, Regulates Temperature Well, Stays put, Wicks Away Moisture Best Uses: Daily Use, Hiking, Walking Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: They are nice and snug and feel great on my feet while hiking with a daypack. I haven't tried them on an overnight trip with a heavier pack. And I love the light blue color.
By willow lake adventure from Colorado on 08/24/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Good Design Best Uses: Backpacking, Hiking Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: used a couple times, they're great, but do seem a bit on the warm side, might be better in the autumn and fall.
I will buy more of these. By Sandy from Iowa on 08/10/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These socks keep their shape; they do not "clump up" or bind, important when the first use they are put to is as a barrier between an injured foot (hairline fracture) and a protective therapeutic "boot" from the physical therapy department. This definitely wasn't the first use intended; however for good fit and especially comfort, I can highly recommend.
