By Casual Teacher from South Carolina on 07/11/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Good Design, Regulates Temperature Well, Stylish, Wicks Away Moisture Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: SmartWool socks are my favorite (and I've tried several different brands). My feet do not get cold and they are very comfortable. I wear these during the fall and winter months and some in the summer.
Definitely a light hiking sock only By jewel_1446 from Stamford, CT on 07/11/2009 Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: These socks would be fine for everyday use or very light hiking where there's not a lot of rough terrain and incline. I had packed them as a spare sock on a 3 day backpacking trip and used them on the last day. About 2 miles into the hike I had to change them because my feet started to develop hot spots (which I didn't have with the heavier trekking socks). I would say these are a nice everyday sock that wicks away moisture or even good for light hiking but not for anything more than that.

These are great for light hiking - really kept my feet warm and were comfortable in boots and shoes. True to size!
By Corbett the Backpacker from Northwest Georgia on 07/06/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Wicks Away Moisture Best Uses: Backpacking, Hiking Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I just hooked my girlfriend up with everything she would need to backpack a volcano with me in maui and this one one of many thing i ordered. They really saved her feet. Smartwool is still my favorite brand for hiking-even better than wigwam. They were great for any weather even when it got below 40 degrees in haleakala!

They were perfect at night in keeping feet warm and perfect when the kids needed a warm sock during the day.
By Jolando from Orlando, FL on 06/29/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Good Design, Regulates Temperature Well, Stylish, Wicks Away Moisture Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I live in Florida and wear Smartwool year round. The lightweight hikers are perfect for summer wear and wick moisture from my feet better than cotton. My feet don't burn from them as they do with cotton. My only issue is the top band is a bit too tight (as are most socks). I prefer crew style, but like the band looser so they don't cut off circulation. The foot is a bit too big but not a problem and I am not getting blisters from the size.
