Soooo easy
By Blaino from Boise, Id on 08/22/2009
Pros:
Comfortable, Super easy
Cons:
Too simple
Best Uses:
Car Camping
Describe Yourself:
Casual Adventurer
What Is Your Gear Style:
Comfort Driven
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Comments:
I was a little hesitant to purchase this cot because all of the comments from the real winners that thought it was all but impossible to set up. Man am I glad for my general distust in my fellow man/woman, and thier complete an utter incompetence. I mean you got to be some kind of [*] not to be able to set this extremely simple cot up. It was the easiest and most comfortable piece of camping gear I have ever purchased. It seriously took less than a minute the first time I set it up.

Great Lightweight Cot
By Raft Nut from Fort Collins, CO on 08/20/2009
Pros:
Comfortable, Compact Roll Up, Lightweight
Cons:
Very low to the ground
Best Uses:
Car Camping, Extended Trips, Rafting, Weekend Trips
Describe Yourself:
Outdoor Professional
What Is Your Gear Style:
Minimalist
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Comments:
Great cot at a great price. Super comfortable, lightweight, and pretty easy to set up. The only problem I can see is that it is very low to the ground. Your butt almost is on the ground when sleeping in it, so you may not be able to set it up on rocky surfaces. Other than that I am very happy with it.

Too complicated!
By JJRVerified Reviewer from IL on 08/17/2009
Pros:
Comfortable, Lightweight
Cons:
Hard to assemble, Low to the ground, Slips Easily
Best Uses:
Boy Scout camping
Describe Yourself:
Casual Adventurer
What Is Your Gear Style:
Comfort Driven
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Comments:
We ordered this for my son. It is too complicated for him to get together by himself. It's a pain to do even as an adult. It's comfortable enough when assembled, but my son didn't like it was so close to the ground.

Not as easy as they say
By Disappointed from Chicago, IL on 08/12/2009
Pros:
Lightweight
Cons:
Difficult to put together, Poles were hard to insert
Best Uses:
Car Camping
Describe Yourself:
Casual Adventurer
What Is Your Gear Style:
Comfort Driven
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Comments:
I tried out the cot at home, and realized I needed to buy a camping pad to place on it. So I bought one of those self-inflatable ones, and found it to be much more comfortable. The cot was very time consuming to put together. The poles were hard to insert into the fabric because there were no holes at the end of it, it was sealed up at both ends, so you had to maneuver the poles into a slit about three inches from the edge, and sometimes the poles would disconnect while inside the fabric, or they would turn so that the holes weren't showing. It was also really hard to connect the frame; it took two people to put it together. Although I preferred sleeping on this cot than on an air mattress, I wish I would have found something more easier and less time consuming to put together.

Couldn't get the legs on
By Oscar's momVerified Reviewer from Flagstaff AZ on 08/06/2009
Pros:
Compact Roll Up
Cons:
Heavy
Describe Yourself:
Casual Adventurer
What Is Your Gear Style:
Comfort Driven
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Comments:
I will be returning this item. I couldn't get the legs on due to the fabric being too tight. Maybe I'm just weak but I don't want to fight with it every time I use it. It was also pretty heavy for it's size.

compact car camping
By homeschool headmaster from K.C., MO on 07/29/2009
Pros:
Comfortable, Compact Roll Up, Durable Design, Lightweight, Non Slip
Best Uses:
Car Camping, Weekend Trips
Describe Yourself:
Casual Adventurer
What Is Your Gear Style:
Comfort Driven
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Comments:
I'm 6'4'' and 215 lbs. & I fit well enough for a good nite sleep. I fit 2 cots in my marmot 3 man tent. I put my 5 & 3 year old on 1 cot ( heads at opposite ends of the cot) and I slept on the other one. We had a good nites of sleep in custer s.p. & the badlands. I found it best to assemble the side poles of the cots outside the tent & added the legs inside the tent. They weigh & compact a third less than oversize cots.

Not so sure about this
By PeteVerified Reviewer from Thousand Oaks, CA on 07/24/2009
Pros:
Compact Roll Up
Cons:
Hard to assemble, Very low to the ground
Best Uses:
Weekend Trips
Describe Yourself:
Casual Adventurer
What Is Your Gear Style:
Comfort Driven
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Comments:
I'm pretty handy and found the legs quite hard to get into place. Once assembled, this cot is very low to the ground, so much so that when on it, it almost touches. I wonder if it might actually hit the ground once stretched over time. It does collapse into a small and flat carry bag.

Well made - like all Alps products
By JayVerified Reviewer from Central NJ on 01/26/2009
Pros:
Durable Design
Cons:
Bulky Roll Up, Heavy
Best Uses:
Car Camping
Describe Yourself:
Avid Adventurer
What Is Your Gear Style:
Minimalist
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Comments:
Strong frame. Overall it's heavy (11+ lbs) and a bit cumbersome to put together. Not something I'd want to do inside a tent. Good if you are a car camper and don't like to sleep on the ground and won't be carrying this cot far. Set it up outside and then manuever it into the tent. Another well made product from Alps but too heavy and bulky for me.

Cons:
Stiff to set up so far
Best Uses:
Car Camping

Comments:
This cot is low slung so it will more easily setup near a tent wall. Not flimsy. I would buy another if they were available.
