Awesome sleeveless jersey By webjul from Lakewood, CO on 08/27/2009 Pros: Breathable, Dries Quickly, Lightweight Describe Yourself: Avid Cyclist Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Even though it is black, the jersey is super cool due to the lightweight material. The material is very soft. One of the back pockets has a cutout to feed your headphones through the back of the jersey. I think this is my favorite sleeveless jersey in my collection!
By Smilin' Sue from Harrisburg, PA on 07/21/2009 Pros: Breathable, Dries Quickly Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels half size too big Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Color pattern attractive, but would have preferred brighter colors for visibility.
A most comfortable jersey By BikerChick from Bloomfield, CT on 07/21/2009 Pros: Breathable, Dries Quickly, Durable, Good Pockets and Features, Lightweight Best Uses: Casual Wear, Mountain Biking, Road Racing Describe Yourself: Avid Cyclist Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I had purchased this identical jersey in a different color at a famous bike shop in Firenze, Italia last summer and it cost four times as much as this. But because it has been my most comfortable sleeveless jersey (the fabric is very soft and breathable), I happily bought another in a different color.
By Cycling "Betty" from Durango, CO on 07/17/2009 Pros: Breathable, Dries Quickly, Durable, Good Pockets and Features, Lightweight Cons: Armholes too large, Size Med fit like Large Best Uses: Mountain Biking, Road Racing Describe Yourself: Avid Cyclist Sizing: Feels full size too big Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Ordered two Castelli jerseys, both in Lg. One fit perfectly, the other (Firenze) fit like XL. Needed to exchange for size Med. Medium fits great except for large armholes. Very lightweight and comfortable on hot rides. Nice color and pattern.
By Downhill Lisa from UA, Ohio on 07/09/2009 Pros: Breathable, Dries Quickly, Durable, Functionally good, Good Pockets and Features, Lightweight Describe Yourself: Avid Cyclist Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Didn't like the fact that the collar is beige an the rest of the trim is white. That was hard to tell from the photo. The fit is fine actually for me. I almost sent it back because of the aestetics, but am so glad I didn't. I have worn it a lot now and am very happy with it from a functional standpoint. Good pockets. Lightweight on hot days. Fits nicely. Overall it was worth it for the price...not sure I would have paid full price for it though. It isn't really up to snuff with other Castelli's I own, but for the price it is very nice.
By iFabGirl from Las Cruces, NM on 05/31/2009 Pros: Breathable, Dries Quickly, Good Pockets and Features, Lightweight Describe Yourself: Avid Cyclist Sizing: Feels half size too big Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: The bad:
This jersey has a rather strange fit. It's a bit short, yet is fitted at the bottom (elastic cord, non-adjustable), yet is still somewhat loose throughout the rest of the body area. I plan to use it for road riding despite the fact that it is a little baggy and "dumpy" looking on the bike. The collar (mandarin style) is an odd bandage-y sort of beige, and doesn't really seem to match the rest of the jersey.
The good:
That said, the material is very nice for hot-weather riding--thin, lightweight, soft...almost feels like it's not there. The pattern is nicely done--fleur-de-lis interspersed with the Castelli scorpion. The back pockets are a little small, and there are only two, but one of them has a *very* cool little credit card pocket within the regular pocket.
Use:
I planned to use this for road riding, but I think it might work out better for mountain biking.
By Prudence from Boulder, CO on 05/20/2009 Pros: Breathable, Dries Quickly, Good Pockets and Features, Lightweight Sizing: Feels full size too big Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This runs larger than other Castelli items. I have a long-sleeved Castelli jersey that's quite snug in a Medium. For reference, I wear a small in SheBeest and Pearl Izumi. The medium in this jersey is too large, and I'll need to switch it for a small.
The jersey is a really lightweight fabric that seems like it'll be great on hot days.
