I would recomend this product By Care Bear from Nacogdoches, TX on 01/20/2009 Pros: Breathable, Durable, Lightweight, Stylish, Warm, Waterproof, Wind Resistant Best Uses: Country life, Farm Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Chest Size: Feels true to size Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living, Unexpected Downpours Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Just recieved my Parka and love it! We live on a farm in Texas and on the days that are extreemely cold and on the days that we have the unexpected downpours it has been great. Lately we have had very windy weather and this Parka has beat the wind. Since I just have recieved the Parka I have not had anything bad to say about it at this time. Green is my favorite color and so that is what color I got and it matches great with my new tennie shoes that I got for my exercise class. I recomend this Parka to anyone who is looking for a good durable all arround weather jacket!!!
By J.K. from Northern Japan on 01/19/2009 Cons: Not Enough Pockets or Features Best Uses: Casual Wear, Downhill, Hiking Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Chest Size: Feels true to size Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living, Winter Sports Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I live in a northern climate where it snows every day in the winter and this is a great coat. I've worn it skiing, hiking, snowshoeing and it's taken everything and is still waterproof, warm, and looks great. It has four zippered pockets on the outside (two hand pockets, one chest, and one on the arm) and has two pouches on the inside. My only improvement would be to have secure pockets on the inside; but other than that; I am very pleased with this coat.
By Amanda from Crawfordville, FL on 01/15/2009 Pros: Breathable, Lightweight, Warm, Waterproof, Wind Resistant Best Uses: Backcountry, Casual Wear, Hiking Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Chest Size: Feels true to size Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is everything I was looking for in a winter jacket. The two layers not only zip together, but are also secured at the wrists and collar. Both the inner and outer layers have warm hand pockets that zip closed, as well as interior pockets in the inner layer and chest and bicep pockets in the outer layer. The hood is very adjustable and detachable. Living in Florida, I'll probably wear the inner layer by itself most of the time. It's comfortable and very flattering.
I only have two complaints. (1) I wish the inner layer was more durable. I've only been wearing it for about a week and it already has a fuzzy spot on the chest where my seatbelt rubs and an ugly snag on one arm. (2) I wish the outer layer was a few inches longer, so it could cover my butt while sitting on wet surfaces.
Overall, this is a great jacket and at Sierra Trading Post it's a really good deal.
By Outdoor Gal from Northern MN on 01/14/2009 Pros: Stylish, Warm, Wind Resistant Best Uses: Backcountry, Casual Wear, Downhill, Hiking Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Chest Size: Feels true to size Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living, Winter Sports Sleeve Length: Feels too long Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This was a cute jacket with good reviews. I returned the one I ordered because the inner layer was defective in the way the zipper attached to the outer layer. So I did not get a chance to actually wear it outside to see how comfortable or warm it was. Also, Columbia jackets seem to always have too long arms for me.
By rec_optimist from Bangor, ME on 01/13/2009 Pros: Durable, Stylish, Warm Best Uses: Backcountry, Casual Wear, Downhill Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Chest Size: Feels true to size Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Love the coat, but I ordered a medium because I was unsure if a small would be too small. However, the medium is a little bigger than I hoped. The small's are gone, so I'm stuck with the medium.
The jacket equivalent of The Mom Jeans. By Outdoor Inga from Seattle, WA on 01/13/2009 Cons: Bulky, Too short overall Best Uses: Backcountry, Casual Wear, Hiking Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Chest Size: Feels true to size Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living, Winter Sports Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Columbia produces sturdy quality at a good price, but their styles are seldom flattering. I'm no fashionista, but this jacket is guaranteed to make you feel stout and matronly. The outer shell was a very nice color (a bright pink with magenta trim) and the finish was good, but the cut was just awful. The zip-in lining is made from the sort of synthetic material that you hate to touch. It may be warm, I couldn't say - but it ain't pretty.
