Good but not jungle-ready By mosquito-prone from brooklyn, ny on 09/10/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable Cons: Does not wick, Fabric Pills Best Uses: Casual Wear, Outdoor Activities Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This shirt does its job of keeping the insects away. I know this because every time I took off the shirt to cool off for a few minutes, my arms got bitten by mosquitoes.
However, once you start sweating (say, maybe because you're hiking in the jungle), the shirt gets damp and stays damp. It might not be such a hassle if you can dry off the shirt in an air-conditioned room or something, but if you're just camping someplace humid, this shirt won't dry quickly. It also appeared to pill/fuzz, but the fuzz went away after washing.
Also, this shirt isn't exactly the height of fashion, but it's okay. The XS fit me (5'4", 120 lbs). Arm length was great, though the collar seemed a smidge small and the body a bit on the boxy side.
Not my favorite of ExOfficio fabrics By MJ lightweight nature adventurer from Southern California on 07/28/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Stylish Best Uses: Casual Wear, Outdoor Activities, Travel Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Used the shirt in Yellowstone. Never went out without it. Good basic white shirt style, insect part works well, washed and dry easy. The cotton in this fabric looks to fray and pill a bit but washed up well and pilling went away. Not so good for backpacking but good if you are looking for a none technical basic shirt with insect protection. Fit true to size, not too blousey or too trim, just right.

Very lightweight, if it repels bugs like it says, it will be a very useful shirt. I will wear it over tank tops like others have recommended.

Took it to the Peru Amazon Rainforest By Girl Scout leader on an Amazon Adventure from San Diego on 07/04/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Durable, Lightweight Best Uses: Camping, Hiking, Outdoor Activities Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I just spent a week in the rainforest and while the rest of my group had lots of mosquito bites I came home bug bite free. I'm usually a very tasty treat for mosquitos. I plan to recommend Ex Officio products anti-bug treated clothing to my friends who make this trip in the coming years. My only complaint was that I didn't buy two shirts and this one had to go thru the entire week alone. I was able to wash it out in the sink and it dried fairly quickly, considering that nothing dries very well in the rainforest. When I slipped and fell in the mud I had to retire it for the trip. The red clay Amazon mud did stain the shirt and I'm not sure how much washing it can take without removing the insect proofing. Thanks for the great product and price.

I wore it on a sunny day and remained very comfortable. I haven't tested the insect repellant feature yet.
By RK from North Carolina on 06/09/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Lightweight, Stylish Best Uses: Casual Wear, Hiking, Outdoor Activities, Travel Describe Yourself: Outdoor Professional Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I do outdoor research in a heavily infested mosquito/tick area. So far, this shirt is excellent at repelling bugs and works well as a sun cover-up. I wear it open over a tank in very hot/humid conditions and remain bug free and as cool as possible in this weather. Nice tailored fit, comfortable, and would probably look nice with "street" clothes as well.
