By pcs from Ellensburg, WA on 04/19/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Comfortable, Versatile Describe Yourself: Casual Dresser Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Overall I think this is a nice vest; it is attractive enough to wear around my casual-professional office, and it is pretty cozy to wear. I like that the outer layer is not fleecy, and thus will not pick up lint and pet hair. The inside fleece is nice and warm. I live in a very windy place, and bought this vest because of the claim that it is windproof; I assumed that it contains some version of a windstopper fabric. Not true... the Ex Officio tag that is attached does not claim that the vest is windproof, but rather 'wind resistant'. Indeed, I tried it out in the wind, and compared it to a vest with Gore Windstopper: there is a difference. If you live in a windy place, and the wind cuts to your bones, and you are looking for a solution, this will help - but won't completely alleviate the problem. That said, it is still a nice vest that works for hiking or around town. The XS that I got still feels a little large on me (90 lbs, 5 ft tall); probably closer to a size 4 than the 0-2 that was advertised.

Not to bulky....

We travel from our home near Yosemite to Vancouver Island B.C. & I will travel with this vest. It layers well over shirts & sweaters as well as under jackets. It is rugged enough to crash through the bush, but attractive enough to go to town. I've been looking for something like this for a long time.
