Padding in the ball and heel is perfect and they don't bunch or slide. If you are on your feet all day, it doesn't get any better than these socks.

The surface I walk on is gravel over asphalt - not exactly cushioned. These socks have helped ease the stress on my feet, legs, and joints tremendously. Plus, they're cooler than wool and breathe well so I don't overheat.
