By Trekking Granny from Minnesota on 11/03/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Good Weight, Lots Of Pockets, Stylish Cons: Hand pockets do not zip Best Uses: Casual Wear, Extreme Conditions, Travel, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Frequent Exerciser Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: After trying two other black jackets, one at more than twice the price paid for this, I finally found the perfect jacket for me. Fit is excellent, the fabric and styling are very attractive so it looks good enough to go out, and that's important since I travel with just one coat. This will be my outer layer on a January hiking trip in Spain but I know it will be my first-choice jacket for all but summer travel and close to home as well. The jacket feels great, seems to breath well, offers good water and wind resistance, yet is not too bulky to take off and add to the backpack if it gets sunny and warm. The well-fitting removable hood and inside pockets are big pluses. Zippers and cords are high quality and work well. I'm 5'9" and got XL which is a good length and roomy enough for layers. The sleeves are a little long, just what I wanted. I'm thrilled!
By urban walker from san francisco on 11/03/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Good Weight, Lots Of Pockets Describe Yourself: Frequent Exerciser Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought this for my morning walks in SF when it may be windy or rainy. It's very lightweight but I'm happy to wear something underneath for warmth. I wish it were quieter. I also wish it were more fitted and stylish looking. But I'm keeping it because it feels good and I like the hood and green color.
By Young Mountain Enthusiast from State College, PA on 10/28/2009 Pros: Breathable, Lots Of Pockets, Stylish Best Uses: Sports, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Frequent Exerciser Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is the most stylish rain-resistant jacket i have seen; i needed a hood but didn't want an ugly visible zipper. this jacket has a subtle detachable hood. Only issue was the size; mine was too large, I had to exchange it for a size smaller than I expected. After that, the fit was perfect.
By gramma from minneapolis, mn on 10/19/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Good Weight, Lots Of Pockets, Nice weight and fit, Not for real cold weather, Perfect for fall weather, Stylish Best Uses: Casual Wear, Sports, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Occasional Exerciser Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I love the way it looks and fits. Was hoping it would be a little warmer but is just right as a layer for fall-type weather.
By Mendo from Ukiah, CA on 10/13/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Good Weight, Lots Of Pockets, Stylish Best Uses: Casual Wear, Sports, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Frequent Exerciser Sleeve Length: Feels too long Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is a beautifully made, stylish casual jacket. I exchanged my first purchase for another one because the front zipper did not zip all the way up--I often ride a bike to work so this was important. I liked the coat enough to go through the return process, and the exchange coat zipper is fine. The need to return is the only reason for the reduced star rating.
light weight and versatile By GJH from Boston, MA on 10/02/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Good Weight, Great fabric, Lots Of Pockets, Stylish Best Uses: Casual Wear, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Frequent Exerciser Sleeve Length: Feels too long Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought this as a lightweight rain jacket but find myself wearing almost daily as a light fall jacket. Lots of pockets, including a zip pocket on the sleeve that is great for a cell phone. It is very flattering, even my teenage sons commented on it. The only drawback are the slightly long sleeves but for the money, no complaints here.
By Comfy in SF from San Francisco, CA on 09/21/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Good Weight, Lots Of Pockets, Stylish, Warm Best Uses: Casual Wear, Damp weather Describe Yourself: Occasional Exerciser Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is a really nice light weight jacket that effectively blocks the chilly wind yet breathes when you're in the sun.
Not quite business casual By Alas, relegated to soccer mom from Seattle area on 08/26/2009 Describe Yourself: Conditioning Exerciser Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Wanted a replacement for my softshell that I wear as business attire in Seattle, and this one has a hood. But the style is not quite up to par with my old ExOfficio, so I'll probably wear it as a layer @ my kid's soccer games
A well made piece of outerwear. By Deidra from Fairfield, CT on 08/23/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Good Weight, Lots Of Pockets, Stylish, Warm Describe Yourself: Frequent Exerciser Sleeve Length: Feels too long Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I love this jacket. I bought in a large because I wanted to layer things underneath but it was way too big. I exchanged it for a medium and it is perfect. It has no lining therefore it's good for layering for outside activity. The sleeves are a bit too long but not that bad.
Love the color but lack the warmth By fawn from columbia, sc on 07/30/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Good Weight, Lots Of Pockets, Stylish Describe Yourself: Occasional Exerciser Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: If I wasn't so concern about how warm it would keep me I would love this jacket. The color is my favorite and it fits very nicely. Needs pit zips.
