By D from Chicago on 10/19/2009 Pros: Lightweight, Waterproof Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Chest Size: Feels true to size Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Nicely made jacket, good features, but I was looking for something dressier.
By phillygirl from Philadelphia on 10/13/2009 Pros: Stylish, Warm, Waterproof, Wind Resistant Sleeve Length: Feels too long Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I use this coat as a commuting coat (I walk 30 minutes to work). It is cute, flattering, and has a pleasant peached finish on the outside. I haven't had a chance to test its mettle in a true Philly rainstorm yet but Ex Officio generally seem to know what they're doing. Downsides include its lack of ventilation, (less of an issue for folks who are using this for less active wear) and a sort of plastic-y feel on the inside. Since it's a transitional coat (not lined for winter), I don't find this to be a problem because I generally am wearing long sleeves under it.I'm 5'4", petite frame, usually a size 6, would probably have done better to order XS as the S is quite roomy, [...]

Stylish, well made and very functional By Suzy from North Jersey on 10/05/2009 Pros: Stylish, Waterproof, Wind Resistant Best Uses: Casual Wear, Travel Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I was looking for a stylish waterproof coat that was not a blocky-looking shell, and found this one. It is a great coat--stylish and well tailored, but with ex-officio's typical well thought out design and quality. It has all of the technical features I wanted (a detachable hood, lots of pockets), and is tailored to look like a women's coat.
As other reviewers have said, the way this coat is cut worked very well for me (I am 5'8", slim, and have long arms)--it was a perfect fit for me and ran true to size for me. I bought the tan color, which is nice and matches just about everything. One additional thing to note: this coat does not have an additional lining inside (fleece or zip out) so if you live in a cold climate and want to wear it during the colder weather, you will need to layer on your own. I think it is a great coat and the price can't be beat!
Casual coat, zipper difficult By downtownjudybrown from Portland, OR on 10/03/2009 Pros: Lightweight, Waterproof, Wind Resistant Describe Yourself: Advanced Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: This coat looked flattering, but was not dressy at all. The liner felt plasticy and wasn't warm. It was extremely difficult to zip - the zipper did not want to move on its track. I also don't like the 2-way zip. I returned it because I couldn't zip it.
By dogwalker from Corvallis Or on 08/06/2009 Pros: Lightweight, Waterproof, Wind Resistant Cons: Exterior logo on collar Best Uses: Casual Wear, Travel Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Great pockets, I wanted a practical jacket for travel and this fits the bill. The style is plain enough that I can wear it from causal to slightly dressy. I liked the slight fitting down the torso that gives waist shape without the hassle of a belt.
excellent jacket-- high quality By Jane from Indiana on 06/10/2009 Pros: Breathable, Durable, Lightweight, Stylish, Waterproof Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Chest Size: Feels true to size Gear Usage: Rainy springsummer days Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: excellent jacket... Ex officio runs a little big, which is perfect for my 5'10" lean frame. The arms are long, definitely... I normally buy a 10 in pants but have to buy 12 for shoulders in tops... The medium fit me great... normally when stuck with the small/medium/large choice I opt for the large b/c of the shoulders, but the medium in this was good for me and not the least bit restictive, even with a light fleece underneath. It's dressier than a windbreaker/sports jacket, but not dressy like a long trench... I think it's a perfect everyday rain jacket/spring jacket to go with slacks, etc...
By GottaHaveRunningSilks from SF Bay Area, CA on 05/04/2009 Pros: Durable, Stylish, Waterproof Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I was looking for a raincoat for casual business travel. Although this had high quality construction and the overall look would have worked, the interior felt very plastic-y and I returned it.
