Someone else posted that the buckle was weak, but I think it's good, high quality all around.
I wore it to a soccer game during the rain and it was definitely waterproof.
These pants are more durable than they are light, so I wouldn't bring them on a backcountry hiking trip. But I plan to wear them when I need to be outside when it's cold and rainy.
Someone said they got them for a bike/motorcycle, that would probably work ok, except you need something extra long for biking unless you want the legs to ride up your calves.

I like the pants a lot. They're a bit long, but seem true to the waste size and large enough that you could wear them as outerwear

By PatHaggs from New Jersey on 04/20/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Lightweight, Waterproof Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Inseam: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I am going to use these pants as a waterproof layer when I go hiking on the AT next month. They fit perfectly - I'm 5'10, 180lbs. and I bought the medium sie. I've only conducted a small experiment to test the pants' ability to keep water out and they held up just fine. Overall, I'm very satisfied with the purchase.
By Elsabae from Maine on 04/18/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Durable, Stylish, Waterproof Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Inseam: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These are beautifully made. They are not lightweight as in backpacking lightweight but are good for boating and car camping. They are really a full featured pant - you would only have to wear layers under them for warmth. They are fully lined.

They are just a shell with no warmth, but a good buy for waterproof pants.
