One pair is made of a thinner wicking material and the other is a cushioned material. Both pairs are comfortable, but they are not the same type of sock.

The thin sock is a great liner or good to wear alone. The thick sock is really fluffy and comfy for hiking with light hikers.

But these socks aren't all that bad, I've had worse in the past.
