By Mountain Maiden from Durango, Colorado on 10/08/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Good Weight, Lots Of Pockets, Stylish Describe Yourself: Conditioning Exerciser Sleeve Length: Feels too long Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: They're not soft shell. The label says "softech." They are smooth, woven fabric inside and out, not the knitted softshell that is smooth on the outside and fleecy on the inside, like I expected. Other than not being what I expected, they are nice pants. I just wore them to court and will be hiking in them this afternoon. They fit well in the hips and waist, and look nice. Although they have a lot of pockets, including cargo pockets on the thigh, the pockets are designed not to bulge unattractively when there is nothing in them. I think they will be too thin to use outdoors in the winter without longjohns underneath.
By Chappy from Vermont on 08/29/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Good Weight, Lots Of Pockets Best Uses: Casual Wear, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Occasional Exerciser Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Great pant for hikes in the woods or around town shopping on a wet day. I have not worn them in a down poor yet, but after a rain storm, when the wet plants hit my legs, etc...the water just rolls right off. Nice deep pockets and the material feels great. Not too heavy and not too light. I'm 5'2 and they are a bit long for me, but that is to be expected. With boots they are fine.
good quality, comfortable By Glad I bought them from San Diego on 06/16/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Great quality, Stretchy Describe Yourself: Frequent Exerciser Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: High quality, comfortable. The label says they are also waterproof (havent tested that yet). I bought these pants for hiking and they seem excellent. They are mid-weight and have a lot of pockets. They fit very well.

Very versatile, functional, and stylish.
By reflected light from Methow Valley WA on 03/24/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Good Weight, Lots Of Pockets Describe Yourself: Frequent Exerciser Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought shorts of the same type last summer and then lived in them. They sit just below the waist, have a little bit of stretch and the workmanship is great in this day and age of poorly made stuff. I'd buy again and again
By eac from homebase: ozarks on 01/04/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Good Weight, Lots Of Pockets, Stylish Best Uses: Extreme Conditions, Sports Describe Yourself: Frequent Exerciser Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These pants look great and feel good, but I am dissappointed that they are sold as "soft shell." Seems anything with a little stretch is called soft shell these days. These pants are better described as shell pants as there is no insulating fuzz, they are very light and thin, which is great if that's what you're looking for. I would not recommend if you are really after soft shell pants.
