By jingle from northern california on 07/10/2009 Cons: Dim, No Beam Adjustment, Switch hard to press Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Ordered the green one first and was surprised that the casing allows the light to glow back through. Wouldn't like that in a serious setting but I only use this light in and around the house (off the grid) and didn't have great expectations anyway. We use flashlights a lot and I just wanted to save on batteries. Got my husband one in black to minimize the "glowback". His switch is hard to press, but mine's okay. Light strength is medium. Would recommend it with reservations.
By May the quilter from St George, UT on 07/05/2009 Pros: Bright, Durable, Stable Best Uses: Backpacking, Car Camping, Day trip, Hiking Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This light is much more than I expected. The beam is stable and bright, enough to read by at night. Other lights without batteries that I have used have been short-lived, and so unsteady that you could not read a word by them. This light is wonderful. I give it ten stars!
By Julie from Atlanta on 07/02/2009 Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Perhaps I didn't give this a good enough chance, but I let it sit f/48 hours w/two good days of sun exposure, but it barely produced a beam - hardly worth calling itself a flashlight.
By Eddie Vanilla from Pocheon, South Korea on 06/29/2009 Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is a very cool product. It is a little bit bigger than I had thought it would be, but it's not big and bulky or anything. For someone who is doing backcountry hiking and needs to shed every ounce then it might be better to have a small battery powered flashlight, but to have a flashlight that never needs or runs out of batteries is great.
By Bob from Mesa, AZ on 06/26/2009 Pros: Durable, Long battery life, Stable Best Uses: Backpacking, Car Camping, Hiking Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I like the fact that it is solar and I don't have to buy batteries.

By Unclebob from Earth,USA,KC,MO on 06/22/2009 Pros: Long battery life, Not too bright, Stable Best Uses: Backpacking, Car Camping, Day trip, Hiking Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Nice soft light that doesn't wake everybody up and still bright enough to see clearly 3-4 meters ahead.
Solar recharge a big plus.
