By flgal from lakeland,Fl on 06/21/2009 Pros: Bright, Long battery life Best Uses: Backpacking, Car Camping, Hiking, Power Outages Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought this flashlight with hurricane season in mind, as I live in Fl. Not having to worry about batteries is a big plus, also the light is very bright. Haven't had the chance to test the water proof feature yet.
By pricegrabber from wa on 06/21/2009 Best Uses: Car Camping, Walking a dog Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Charges well despite some reviews I've read here. The issue I think is that when it's fully discharged, you can't tell the button is On or Off. When you unaware continue to charge in ON mode, it discharges at the same time and doesn't look working. Being properly charged (on cloudy day as well), it gives plenty of light to walk a dog (covers up to 20 meters).
By Paflytier197 from Southeastern Pa on 06/16/2009 Best Uses: Backpacking, Car Camping, Day trip, Fishing, Hiking Describe Yourself: Outdoor Professional Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Great in theory! If you only require a minimal task light approximately two candle power.
Not Bright Enough to be useful By loves the outdoors from Southern CA on 06/16/2009 Cons: Dim, No Beam Adjustment Best Uses: When the only light avail Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: The idea is great, but the light is so dim that last night, when we wanted to identify the animal that had climbed up a tree outside our home-it was impossible to see with this (fully charged)dull dim light. I had to go back in the house and get one of the shake flashlights I had bought and it was easy to identify the animal as a cat! This light is virtually useless except when you have nothing else. The shake flashlights have a strong light and are easy to use.
Functional but not bright By Jock from Washington on 06/15/2009 Cons: Dim, No Beam Adjustment Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This works for casual hiking, but nothing backcountry since the beam is small. It's great for kids, however, since they tend to leave flashlights on, so it was a hit at the last slumber party.
By Caveman from Harrisonburg, VA on 06/11/2009 Pros: Floats, Long battery life, Waterproof Cons: Dim, No Beam Adjustment Best Uses: Backpacking, Car Camping, Emergency light Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I was hoping this light would be brighter and the beam is relatively narrow, so it does not light up much area. However it is wonderful for extended use outdoors where there is little if any opportunity to buy or recharge conventional batteries. Waterproof and floats, too.
