Only good to 300 yards
By GearSkepticVerified Reviewer from Salt Lake City, UT on 10/14/2009
Pros:
Compact, Lightweight
Cons:
Limited Range, Unstable
Best Uses:
Archery hunting
Describe Yourself:
Avid Adventurer
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Comments:
I purchased the Bushnell Yardage Pro, with the intention of using it for rifle big game hunting in the Western U.S. I was sorely disappointed in its performance in both sunny and cloudy conditions, with and without snow, in the Utah mountains. I was unable to get a reading for objects beyond 325 yards, whether trees or ground, with or without snow cover. 280 yards was the limit of its ability to consistently range. From 280 to 325, I could only sometimes get a reading. If you plan use it to establish your maximum ethical range at 300 yards or less, or hunt only archery, I suppose this product could be of some use, but past 300 it's useless. I'm returning it.

OK for short range
By HunterVerified Reviewer from Colorado on 09/11/2009
Pros:
Accurate
Best Uses:
Hunting
Describe Yourself:
Avid Adventurer
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Comments:
I thought this would be a long range unit but found it is not. It is fine on short to mid shots but once you get out over five hundred yards you need a house with sun on it. I returned this and will wait for a better range finder.

Not A long range unit

Hunting

Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Comments:
I thought I found a great range finder for the right price but was wrong. This unit will only range to 350 to 400 yards on a Deer or Elk. I got 800 yards on a refelective house. The unit is OK but it is not a 900 yard range finder.

When I saw a range finder for up to 999 yards at this price I thought great. Will it's to good to be true. This is a fine mid range unit up to 400 yards. Anything over that and you need large reflective objects. I have only been able to pick up a house over 600 yards (in the sun). I have not been able to get anything over 700 yards.

To good to be true, but works well
By hunterVerified Reviewer from Colorado on 08/24/2009
Pros:
Accurate, Compact, Quality Lenses
Best Uses:
Hunting
Describe Yourself:
Avid Adventurer
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Comments:
I have been looking for a long range range finder and thought I found it. The information says it is good to 999 yards but when I got it that is only to a reflective object the size of a house. When I tried it on a house at 550 yards it would not even pick it up until it was in the sun. The shade side of the house had no reading. The box tells you it is only good for 3oo yards on a deer or elk. While this is fine, and should have been assumed at this price, it was not clear. This is a good mid-range rang finder just don't be fooled by the information provided.

Not for golfers
By Golfergirl from Western New York on 08/06/2009
Pros:
Compact
Cons:
Unstable
Best Uses:
Don't know
Describe Yourself:
Casual/ Recreational
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Comments:
I bought it for golf and determining distances. A friend has a different model and it works great. It rarely picks-up the pin because it is not sensitive enough. I have not used it for anything else. Would not recommend it to golfers.

Not what I was wanting!
By Jimbob from Denver, CO on 05/26/2009
Pros:
Compact, Quality Lenses
Cons:
Unstable
Best Uses:
Hunting
Describe Yourself:
Casual/ Recreational
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Comments:
I purchased the range finder primarily for golf and found that it would only pick up a flag consistantly from 150 yds or less. I need a range finder with distances for a golf flag of 250 to 300 yards. This range finder is likely good for larger objects but was not refined enough for what I require for golf.
