This Vittora Tire was what I was looking for @ 1/2 the retail price @ local Bike Shop. I purchased 2 for the Price of 1.
By 2Merckx from Tacoma, WA on 07/31/2009 Describe Yourself: Avid Cyclist Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Great tires--smooth ride, great cornering--the next best thing to tubulars.
By CYCLER from SPOKANE, WA on 07/23/2009 Pros: Easy to Use, GREAT RIDE QUALITY, Lightweight Best Uses: Long Rides, Road Bikes Describe Yourself: Avid Cyclist Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: USE THESE TIRES FOR EVERYDAY USE. THE RIDE IS SO GOOD IT'S HARD NOT TO. MILEAGE IS NOT THE BEST BUT WORTH THE LITTLE EXTRA EXPENSE. I'VE RIDDEN MANY BRANDS OVER THE YEARS AND NOTHING COMPARES TO THIS RIDE IN A CLINCHER.
A great tire for training/ racing or By Barney from Philadelphia, PA on 07/05/2009 Pros: Good grip, Great road feel, Handles well, Lightweight, Versatile Cons: Lower puncture resistence, Not long wearing Best Uses: Long Rides, Racing, Road Bikes, Training Describe Yourself: Avid Cyclist Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These tires have a supple, predictable ride. They have good grip, but will wear faster because of it. They can be a bit of work to put on initially. Once they've been mounted, the kevlar bead stretches enough to make tube changes pretty easy. They are not puncture proof touring tires.
By Irun-Man from Spokane on 06/29/2009 Describe Yourself: Avid Cyclist Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Low rolling resistance, good tire for training and racing.
Great tire, fantastic price... By RichInMV from San Francisco, CA on 06/21/2009 Pros: Easy to Use, Great handling and riding, Lightweight Best Uses: Long Rides, Racing and training, Road Bikes Describe Yourself: Competitive Cyclist Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These are the recently discontinued 290 tpi versions of Vittoria's best tires. Fantastic grip and great ride. Surprisingly flat-proof if you keep them at over 110 psi. At this price, you can have full race-day tires for all your training.
Tubular feel, clincher convenience. By Middle Aged Roadie from Indiana on 06/15/2009 Pros: Lightweight, Road feel Describe Yourself: Avid Cyclist Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These tires offer remarkable responsiveness and road feel with a smooth, silky ride. They are tough to stretch over clincher rims: levers are a necessity. Reports on the web question their durability and wear characteristics, but my experience with the tires (less than 1000 miles) remains limited in this regard.
smooth riding racing tire By james from missouri on 06/09/2009 Describe Yourself: Competitive Cyclist Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: It may be a racing tire but it sure rides nice. At 110 psi it is more comfortable than any other clincher I have ridden. Although I don't think its built for durability I guess its about average -quit looking for a competitive tire that doesn't flat or get sidewall tears.
By egen from burlington,vt on 06/08/2009 Pros: Grippy, Lightweight, Smooth riding Best Uses: Climbing, Racing, Road Bikes, Training miles Describe Yourself: Avid Cyclist Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: been riding on these for about 6 years. expect to get around 1500 miles on them, before a change. they are also good in the wet, while always giving a comfy ride. expensive; yes, worth the expense;yes.
Tires don't get any better than this By yourdaguy from Evansville, IN on 06/04/2009 Pros: Low rolling resistance, The best ride ever Best Uses: Long Rides, Road Bikes Describe Yourself: Avid Cyclist Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These tires have the lowest rolling resistance of any clincher and the best ride. What more can you ask? They will wear down in the center after 1000 miles or so, but they will run many miles more after that. My favorite tire.
