Wide stable base is great for anyone whose foot doesn't quite know how to stabilize!!

Yet lightweight enough so you don't feel like ankle weights strapped to you after a few miles of trail running. Beware of other trail runners that are advertised as "lightweight" as most will lack cushioning.

I go through hiking/cross country training shoes pretty fast, but with the addition of a hiking specific shoe bed, these were ready to go right out of the box.

I have a large foot (Women's 11M)and wear custom orthotics. My insole fit beautifully in the shoe and the toebox was wide enough to accommodate my foot comfortably. The soles have a deep tread to them which makes it great for "off-roading". They have a non-standard look that's different from a typical running shoe which makes them a little more modern/funky. I ordered the women's size 12 (seems running shoes and bathing suits require me to order sizes larger than normal)and it fit perfectly.
