Bottom note as sleek a fit as expected. By STPReviewer from NY on 08/27/2009 Pros: Durable, Lightweight, Warm Best Uses: Daily Use, Going Out Describe Yourself: Trendy/Stylish Dresser Sizing: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: After reading the reviews about fit, I was very leary about purchasing this item, but looked at the sizing chart and went by the measurements there to determine what cut might work best for me. My shoulders do tend to need a little more room.
The coat fits well on top; I like the way the sleeves don't ride up at the wrists when you extend your arms the way some garments do. However, the belt was quite long, even if you choose to tie it rather than buckle it.
The workmanship and material are good quality, and it feels like it will give just enough warmth in cool weather without feeling bulky or hot. The sheen of the outer material is very classy looking.
My biggest disappointment with the design is that
the bottom fans out like the trench coat worn by the Wicked Witch of the West in the Wizard of OZ, no exagerration. Instead of feeling and looking sleek and sexy in it, it makes me feel like I should be chasing after Toto and calling out the flying monkeys. I was going for the look Kelly Choi projects in her fabulous winyl trench in Secrets of NY, but that bottom ruins it. I dislike this aspect of the design so much I'm considering returning the item. The photo online does not suggest this wide fanning out on the bottom; I expected it to be more of a fitted cut below the waist.
If that is not something that is a concern to you, it is a great mid weight coat, especially for the price. Read the size chart, and buy it.
By Gym Runner from Denver, CO on 08/17/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Comfortable, Well Made Best Uses: Bad Weather, Going Out Describe Yourself: Classic Dresser Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: One size fits in the shoulders, but is too big in the waist, the next size down feels too tight in the shoulders and fits in the waist. Because it is of stretch material, I think that I can't be fitted properly in this coat. (BTW, I am not large-shouldered nor do I have a small waist.) I would recommend this coat, with the caveats I described.
