The insert is very comfortable, it ventilates well and keeps my feet dry while riding during an unexpected downpour.
I thought the tongue might be too stiff, but to date it hasn't caused any problems.

Great shoes for a great price By Amos from Renton, WA on 07/14/2009 Pros: Durable Sole, Simple to Use, Stylish and good fit Best Uses: Everyday riding Describe Yourself: Avid Cyclist Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I decided to return to road shoes after using mountain bike shoes for the last 10 years for comfort and ease of walking. These are easier to walk in then older road shoes but still not ideal - I do not use a cleat cover though so that could help. These shoes are very comfortable, look great, and perform as expected.

By Jane Doe from MA on 06/01/2009 Pros: Durable Sole, Simple to Use, Well Ventilated Best Uses: Climbing, Everyday riding, Long-distance riding Describe Yourself: Avid Cyclist Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I'm very happy with these shoes. I'm size 8 and the 41 is perfect. My only complaint is that they are very slippery to walk in. My husband had to glue a small piece of rubber sole to the bottom of the toes so I don't accidentally slip putting my cleats on during a ride. I'm not a racer, so the extra weight is fine for me.
Nice fit, except for tongue By Mediocre triathlete from Charleston, WV on 04/06/2009 Pros: Arch support, Simple to Use Best Uses: Everyday riding, Long-distance riding, Sprinting Describe Yourself: Avid Cyclist Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I liked the way this felt on my foot immediately. It hugs the foot, unlike other shoes which just felt like spaces strapped to my foot. I like the arch support and velcro closures. However, I find that the tongue sort of cuts into the top of my foot right at the ankle. I'm hoping this stretches a bit as the shoes break in. It's not so bad when riding, but when standing it is really annoying.
