No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I primarily wear this for travel since its so easy to wash and dries quickly so that I only have to bring several pairs. It wicks moisture and keeps me cool in warm weather though the cut appears to be European so it fits quite snug for us husky types around the middle (and I am not over-weight), just like European cycling clothing. If I had known that, I would have ordered the next larger size...but then they may be too long as noted in other comments.
