By Bryan O'Roarke from Las Vegas, NV on 09/18/2009 Best Uses: Indoor, Long Climbs, Outdoor Describe Yourself: Avid Climber Sizing: Feels half size too small Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: FYI, This harness is Black Diamonds first version of the Momentum AL harness. This version has since been discontinued and was replaced with the current harness you will see in your local store. The easiest way to note the difference is by looking at the gear loops. The first version used a grey plastic/rubber type loop and the updated version uses a cording with clear plastic sheath around it. I have two of the current versions and purchased two of these discontinued versions as a backup. They are different and that is why this is such a low price, it's discontinued. The design is different, gear loops are different and these XL harnesses are SMALLER than the current XL harnesses you will see in the store. The updated version is a bit better in my opinion but at this price, it's not bad and can over look these differences, especially since it wont be my primary harness.

Great price for a top of the line produc By Roof Runner from Houston, TX on 03/19/2009 Pros: Durable, Heavy duty equipment, Simple Cons: Instructions not clear Best Uses: Roof inspections Describe Yourself: Getting Started Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I attended a certification class to learn correctly how to climb steep roofs for my profession. In the class we were shown several different types of climbing harnesses, the Black Diamond brand being one of them. I found this brand the simplest to get in and out of, so I priced them at an outdoors shop here locally. Then I went on line and found Sierra Trading Post selling this item for 1/2 price-[...], than our local store sold the same product for. If you can wait the week to get it, it is definitely worth it.
By surfgirl from honolulu, hi on 03/19/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Simple Best Uses: Indoor, Outdoor, Sprint Climbs Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels half size too small Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I purchased this same harness in the same size about 6 months ago. This one looks very different and a cpl inches smaller. This smaller one fits, but one of them must be mismarked as to size. There are only 3 plastic loops on this one but are supposed to be 4, also, the webbing does not seem to be as strong. All that being said, it should still be fine for top rope and other recreational climbs.
