Excellent Multi-Sport Shoe! By MrBobzilla from Ventura, CA. on 06/09/2009 Pros: Adjustable Snugness, Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Stable, Water Resistant Best Uses: Day hikes, Everyday, Intermediate Biking Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought these shoes principally for day hiking and they work absolutely great in that capacity. The inner foot bed offers firm support and the leading 2/3rds of the sole, measuring from the heel out towards the ball of the foot sole, is fairly rigid. This is good because this construction prevents over-pronation or your foot or waffling over rugged terrain. I also found that this firm support structure was great for applying constant, even pressure over the platform face of my bike pedals of my hybrid bike. There was always full-foot contact exerted on the pedal for maximum efficiency and it reduced foot fatigue. The adjustable cross strapping over the top of the shoe greatly enhanced the customization of the snugness of the shoe, depending on your activity. I'm VERY happy with this purchase!
By X-Alaska Joe from Durham, NC on 06/09/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Stable, Very light, Water Resistant Best Uses: Backcountry, Day hikes, Everyday, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These shoes fit like a glove. They seem to vanish when they are on your feet. They provide great traction on slippery surfaces. They dry out very quickly when they get wet. On hot days they keep your feet dry with their great ventilation. Another plus is it has a rubber piece over the big toe. My monster toe always likes to pop out throught the top of sneakers. This simple design helps prevent my big toes from escaping. [...]
Nice, but I wish better support... By Chief from Sweet Home Chicago on 06/09/2009 Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Comfortable, nice looking, but difficult to tighten the cross support. I have three pairt of Teva wraptors, because they support my bad ankles. This pair not so much... OK for just casual wear, not for hiking.
By Mike from Topeka Kansas on 06/04/2009 Cons: Footbed drainage holes Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Sizing: Feels full size too big Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Used this product one day at DisneyWorld and have huge blisters on the soles of both feet. The drainage holes in the soles are what caused the problem.
By mike from topeka kansas on 06/02/2009 Cons: Vents cut into foot bed Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Sizing: Feels full size too big Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Absolutely the worst design possible. The vents cut into the foot bed for water drainage of the sole produces huge blisters when only used for walking.
