good comfort, could be better By JJ from Bradford, PA on 07/17/2009 Pros: Comfortable roomy toe, Good spring action Cons: Color, Tie at ankle tight Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Good summer walking shoe for distance walking, not sure how it will perform in wet or bad weather yet. Could not comfortably tie at last eye for shoe strings. May be just the shoe for someone with skinny ankles or a narrow heel. In my foot it caused the tongue and side of shoe to hit the ankle bone with each step. Not lacing the ties to the last hole is the solution to greater comfort, but that made it loose on the foot and now my foot slides in and out without having to tie and untie the shoe. Some may find this a very desirable quality.

toebox not large enough for orthotic By Nashville Hiker from Nashville, TN on 06/20/2009 Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I'm sure these are great shoes since they are New Balance. But I wear orthotics and had to return them because my feet didn't fit into the shoe when I inserted my orthotics.
toebox too small for orthotics By Nashville Hiker from Nashville on 06/17/2009 Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I'm sure these are wonderful shoes. However, although I ordered the usual 1 1/2 sizes larger to accommodate the orthotics, my foot wouldn't go in the shoe with the orthotic.
