Can't be Beat-SOOO Much Fun By jusme from Queenstown, Md on the Wye & Durango, CO on 06/25/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Compact, Easy Entry & Exit, Easy To Lift, Easy to Paddle, Good Maneuverability Best Uses: Day Trips, Flat Waters, Kayak Camping, Ocean Swells, Rapids, Rivers Describe Yourself: Recreational Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I purchased my Skeeter over 5 years ago and have only had to replace the seat as it broke from pushing upstream. I am 55 yr old woman and find this a much better option than a kayak due to stability, ease of portage, and functionality. When broken down it fits in a small space. It can be completely unfolded, put together and inflated in 10 to 15 minutes,-sooner when I moved faster. I have had hours of fun fishing, wave riding, and just relaxing on my skeeter. I have rigged a platform in front of the seat that my dog (a small shepard) rides on when he isn't balancing on a pontoon and also great when catching a fish to have a place to work from. The storage compartments make organizing all fishing and personal paraphenalia easily accessible. I have taken foldup floatation mat and made it into a small sail that attaches to the front or back giving me extra power when rowing upstream. I would recommend this boat over any kayak, outrigger or small personal watercraft our there. This year I am going to attach a small trowling motor for additional ease of going when on a long paddle. I purchased mine for a remarkable retail price of $99.00 that's how old it is and it is as good as a new. You won't go wrong with this toon.
By Jusme from Queenstown, MD & Durango, CO on 06/23/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Compact, Easy Entry & Exit, Easy to Paddle, Good Maneuverability, Lots of storage, Stable Best Uses: Day Trips, Flat Waters, Kayak Camping, Ocean Swells, Rapids, Rivers Describe Yourself: Recreational Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I purchased my skeeter over 5 years ago and paid only [$] new. Must have been the first model out and have I loved every minute I have been on it. I am a 55 yr old woman and have no problem getting it in and out of water or vehicle, manuevering even when loaded to excess with my dog on home made scaffold in front of the seat and he isn't small. I have been amazed at the durability of the pontoons and overall frame. Would like to put a small motor on back and I have designed a small kite type sail for front or back to assist when going up current that has made the way home much easier many times. Love this product and would recommend it for its overall functionality, affordabiltiy, durability and resale value.
