great shoe for really cheap By Sunnyface Chafedog from Tucson AZ on 10/20/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Stable Best Uses: Backcountry, Day hikes, Everyday Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I am a long distance trail runner wearing an 11 1/2 medium shoe. I also run in Asics and Brooks trail shoes and road shoes.
The Merrells are very comfortable and broke in quickly for me. They offer good support for the slamming a trail gives them, and they're light enough to use on moderate dirt roads.
They are a little wide and don't offer too much stability for pivot on rocks and really bouncing down an uneven trail. This is in comparison to the Brooks Cascadia's, which are my perfect trail shoe. But they were about as good as my Asic Gel Sensors.
Cheers!

By Drifter from Denver, CO on 03/24/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction Best Uses: Day hikes, Everyday, Running Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought these shoes to use for light hiking and running and I couldn't have asked for a better shoe. They are very comfortable and light. They still hold up on runs and on rough terrain. I might buy an second pair just to have.
By Alien Guide from Mars from San Pedro,CA on 03/15/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels half size too big Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Great traction, and breathe really good. Fit is a little loose around the mid foot. I found the design of the sole is a bit hokey and makes me feel like I am ona down slope on level ground, which causes too much forward pressure on actual downhills. But worth a try if looking for a good breathing shoe.
Different Fit Than Other Merrells By CrossFit Denver from Denver on 03/04/2009 Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels half size too small Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Most Merrells fit me great in a 9.5. These shoes were very narrow and did not fit as the other 5 pairs of merrell shoes i have do.

By Cacjr from Clinton, MD on 02/17/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Great Traction, Stable Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Sizing: Feels half size too small Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I've just worn these once, for a 5.5 mile run with some good hills. After seeing a review saying this model was cut a full size small I bought a full size up. After running in them I would say that one would be better served by buying only a half size larger than your dress shoe size. I bought Merrell because I can always make them last longer than other brands. I'm trusting that will be true of these shoes.
By CC from Bethlehem, PA on 02/12/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable Best Uses: Day hikes, Everyday Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This shoe is typical of the kind of quality built into Merrel shoes. Very comfortable, stylish and built for durability. Have had my other pair of Merrel shoes for 9 years, still going strong.
