By walker from maumee, OH on 08/09/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Great Traction, Stable, Water Resistant Best Uses: Day hikes, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I have a very narrow heel, but added inserts and they fit great. I walk the dog everyday in wet and/or dewey surfaces. I love that you just slip them on and tighten with the pull attachment - no tying.

Best Hiking/Trail Run Shoe- NO BREAK IN! By CO Mom w/ 2 dogs from Monument, CO on 07/21/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Stable, Water Resistant Best Uses: Backcountry, Cold weather, Day hikes, Everyday, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Sizing: Feels full size too big Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I hike 5 miles of trails with some steep rocky terrain every morning- this shoe was so comfy right out of the box. Lots of foliage beside single-track trail makes for wet conditions just after dawn. These are the only running shoe that keeps me dry.
I purposely stepped into puddles of water and even into Jenny Lake in the Tetons and my sock stayed dry! These were my only shoes on a 8 day trip to GTNP and YNP and I'd do it again. Warm in the cold mornings, but didn't make my feet hot during warmer parts of day (paired with smartwool sock).
The quick release lacing system is great. So fast and easy to get in and out of, especially when trying to put shoes on when feet are out of the tent but the rest of you is in the tent going slightly downhill!
This shoe is perfect for hiking, trail running and puddle jumping!!

By Khiker from Houston, TX on 07/15/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Stable, Water Resistant Best Uses: Backcountry, Cold weather, Day hikes, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels half size too big Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: First ordered size 9, which is my usual size to order for hiking shoes for extra room feel. Felt too big and too wide. Never felt like I could get them snug around my foot. Ordered my usual everyday size of 8.5. Fit was perfect for me. Great arch support, good mid foot, arch tightening with pull strings. Enough toe room. I have worn these all day without any foot, ankle or leg discomfort. Very lightweight. Because of the water resistance aspect of shoes (GoreTex) which is nice when around wet conditions I did find that even with wicking socks my feet did not breath as well as with other breathable hiking shoes I have worn in past. Not a major issue for me, just a different aspect to be aware of. Wish I had had these when in Yosemite in May actually instead of my North Face shoes that these replaced.

By Sue the nurse from Dallas on 07/03/2009 Best Uses: Day hikes, Everyday Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Have only had them 3 days, but wore them 12-15 hours all 3 days, working as a nurse. Needed to break them in before I take them hiking. Completely comfortable from minute 1. Feel like bedroom slippers, with support. Have already ordered a second pair. I am so impressed.
