By NYC Hiker from New York, NY on 11/04/2009 Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels full size too big Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: It must be a challenge to translate European sizes, because this wasn't even close. Way too big. In addition to the sizing issue, the boot itself just seems too big. But it is lightweight. And nice looking. Had to return.
By Zenwoman from Barnesville, PA on 10/28/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Great Traction, Stable Best Uses: Cold weather, Day hikes, Everyday Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I have a permanently damaged ankle. These boots give me the support I need to where I please in safety. A person who did not need the height in these boots, might not want it. They are also "leaky" around the lacing holes. Other than that, they're wonderful.
By Mama Chickadee from Boca Raton, FL on 10/19/2009 Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I'm just breaking in my feet to my new boots. So far, the boots are great, and feel like my old boots. I've only worn them twice so far, each time on a 3 mile walk on the flat surfaces of South Florida. I have always taped my heels when wearing boots to prevent blisters. This works well for me, so I always do it and never have blisters. I'll write another report when I return from my hiking vacation.
I like the little hooks at the top of the laces and my previous boot inserts fit in these boots perfectly.
Comfortable right out of the box By Mountain Dabbler from White Mountains, NH on 09/01/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction Best Uses: Backcountry, Day hikes Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Boots were bought to replace a pair of light hiking boots from LL Bean after the sole fell off of one boot (!). The Raichles were taller and looked stiffer, but to my surprise were very comfortable right out of the box. I have only worn them about 5 miles, but it was on steep terrain - baptized them accidentally in deep swamp mud - they kept my feet dry (although not billed as waterproof) and cleaned up nicely when I got home. I picked a winner.
Very supportive and comfortable By Ginny from Tucson, AZ on 05/14/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Stable Best Uses: Backcountry, Day hikes Describe Yourself: Outdoor Professional Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: The leather lining is the extremely comfortable. The soles have good grip. Raichle boots have long been my most favorite.
