By Richie from Colorado Springs,Co on 10/02/2009 Pros: Good Looks, nice quality, Nice soft action Cons: Reel seat not to pretty Best Uses: Great for fine tippet, Great for wet flies Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Nice rod ,used this past weekend,worked great.This is a soft action(slow) rod,fished soft hackle on the swing,and worked great!I even caught and landed two brown trout on the same cast,one on the dropper and one on the point fly!

By troutman from San Jose Ca. on 05/13/2009 Pros: Good all around action, Great caster, price, Well made rod Best Uses: Great pack rod, Just fish it you'll know Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought the rod for short pack trips into the sierra's (my two piece sage rods are to bulky at times)I thought I'd try the 4 piece thing out.Well got to say i was impressed with the construction,Good cork,nice reel seat w/nickle hardware,10 guides with 1 stripper(realy 2 strippers dont count the second)and it cast's real well,action on the rod was very good. very happy and supprised.[$]

This new SSL rod casts just as nicely, finish and fittings of similar quality, has the packing advantages of a 4 piece and is less than 1/4 of the price of my old rod. How can you beat that?

Quality for the price is better than expected
Handles and looks like higher priced rods
