Can't go wrong with Columbia By OMrebel from Mississippi on 10/21/2009 Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Well made vest at a great price.
By Chukar Guy from Oregon on 10/07/2009 Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This vest will be good for short jaunts into the field for chasing pheasants or quail. For a long grueling 6 hour chukar hunt in the sage brush you will quickly find that this vest has no pockets for water or food. You'll be carrying lunch and your water in with [*] birds. I plan to modify mine to accomodate water bottles. The shell dispensers are super cool.
Too bad it's been phased out By Doctox from Cub Run KY on 10/05/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Lightweight Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: It's ideal for bird shooting - holds enough shells, either 20 ga or 12 ga, to get a day's worth of birds (assuming you don't miss too many!), and holds the birds too. The shell tubes work perfectly - as soon as you pull out a shell, the next drops into place. I use a SxS double barrel, with different loads in each barrel, so I can keep the 2 types of loads on different sides of the vest and be able to keep track without having to check the shells each time, so reloading is very quick and easy.
Columbia small game hunting vest By John from Upstate NY on 09/15/2009 Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Nicely made with ample room for pheasants as well as clever shotgun shell storage with quick reload tubes. These tubes are made for 12 and 20 gauge shells but I own a 16 guage. By removing the 20 gauge inner sleeve and pinching the 12 gauge with electrical tape the 16 gauge shells fit OK in my slightly modified arrangement. I'll see how this works beginning October 1st when small game season opens here in NY. STP ought clarify its description on the website. It reads 12 to 20 gauge when it shoud read 12 OR 20 gauge. Otherwise this vest will do the trick.
By steve from North Carolina on 08/24/2009 Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I have used this for SD pheasant hunting for 5 years. I love the loader tubes. No fumbling for shells when birds are flying, or losing shells out of pockets. Holds enough shells for the day or maybe two. I lost the 20 guage adaptors and Columbia sent replacements for free in a couple of days after I called. Now that is customer service.
