By Holly from Whitefish, MT on 10/29/2009 Pros: Breathable, Waterproof Best Uses: Casual Wear, Cold Weather, Skiing/Snowboarding Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: It is hard to find a nice coat that is truly waterproof. The lining is a great coat alone too.
The only drawback is the coat is narrow at the bottom and it is a little tight when buttoned and zipped all the way.
Did the job for 3 weeks in Europe By TopCat from Carroll County, Indiana on 10/28/2009 Pros: Lots of pockets, Warm, Waterproof Cons: Liner arm holes too tight Best Uses: Casual Wear, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Our recent trip had cold, damp mornings and warmer afternoons. This jacket worked very well but I put on a heavy sweater when it was very cool outside. The jacket stops the wind and rain very well.
By Geodude from Illinois on 10/27/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Lightweight Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Past Columbia 3-in-1 purchases have had zip-in fleece or insulated liners - not this jacket! Liner is very thin and only anchors in the cuffs of the sleeves. Zip-in liners are greatly preferred to this arrangement. Doubtful that it will be warm enough when the weather turns cold.
By Minnesota Mike from Eagan, MN on 10/23/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Durable, Stylish Best Uses: Casual Wear, Hiking and Camping, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: First new parka purchase in over 15 years...I loved my old Solstice Parka, but it was falling apart. So, after careful consideration, I went with the Columbia Evergreen Parka. So far has been a wise choice. Both the shell and the liner have proven to be exceptionally waterproof, but I do have concerns about how warm the assembly will be in the Minnesota winter. The liner is not terribly thick, so may have to get a thicker liner.
Only issue I have is that the liner does not zip into the the shell. There are 3 clips (one at the end of each arm, and one at the upper back) that attach the liner to the shell, but no zip connector. So, you have to zip up the liner then the shell. Not a big deal, but strange nevertheless.
No concerns about sizing. I'm 6'5" tall, and the arm length is perfect (unusual for me...usually 1-2" short), and the length is good.
All in all, an excellent purchase for the money. I truly feel you would be hard-pressed to find a higher-quality parka for the money, especially since lesser parkas cost more in a brick & mortar store.

Great and versatile jacket! By Fanny from Lutz, Florida on 09/07/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Durable, Lightweight, Stylish, Warm Best Uses: Casual Wear, Cold Weather, Hiking and Camping, Wet Weather Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This jacket is wonderful - the lining can be removed and used by itself. It is also lightweight and packs very easily - doesn't take up alot of room for such a warm jacket.
It may run a little bit small.
By Jack the explorer from Michigan on 08/26/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Durable, Lightweight, Warm, Waterproof Best Uses: Casual Wear, Cold Weather, Skiing/Snowboarding, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: The only disadvantage is the two layers do not zip together and to wear both layers together you must zip them separately. Other than that, a very nice jacket.
