By Kalene from Tracy City, TN on 09/14/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Comfortable, Good Cut, Warm Best Uses: Bad Weather, Travel Describe Yourself: Casual Dresser Sizing: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This jacket is all that my husband could ask for. We live in Middle Tn. and weather here is not extreme like in the North, yet you want a jacket that will stand up the weather we have. This jacket will do all that, plus look great as well.
By Tybombero from Sacramento, CA on 09/12/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Comfortable, Good Cut, Nice color papaya, Quality feel, Warm Best Uses: Bad Weather, Going Out Describe Yourself: Casual Dresser Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This fleece was extremely impressive. I purchased a bunch of different fleeces/softshells and was only going to keep 2. This was among the top picks but i sent it back only because the Large was just a little bulky for my build - i'm 6'0" and 170 lbs. The warmth, feel, quality, style, and comfort are the best i've seen in the fleece. I ended up keeping the Columbia Ice Axe softshell due to a more trim fit in the torso.
This is an excellent jacket! By Jeffzinho from Los Angeles, CA. on 09/09/2009 Best Uses: Outdoor Activities Describe Yourself: Casual Dresser Sizing: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I wore this jacket on a short trip to Patagonia. It's always windy there and temps (w/o wind chill factor) were in the 30s and 40s. I never had any problems. The chest pocket is really handy for carrying something like a small umbrella or plastic cover in case you're out all day and it rains.
Still don't know is summer By Marco from Knoxvile, TN on 08/29/2009 Sleeve Length: Feels too short Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Definitely go by one size bigger than usual
Durable and really wind proof By SF Architect from San Francisco, CA on 08/17/2009 Pros: Durable, Lightweight, Warm Best Uses: Daily Use, Travel Describe Yourself: Classic Dresser Sizing: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: One thing that you cannot discern from the photo is that this product has a small sized but long zipper built into the armpits. This is perfect for long long walks/hikes in cold, windy, foggy or damp locales. Keeps your body warm without overheating. At first this bothered me, but after wearing this outside in the coldest, foggiest (even by San Francisco standards) summer in a generation I thought it quite brilliant. This is a durable and pretty lightweight fleece. For what I paid, I pretty darned happy with it.
Columbia makes good, quality products. Good workmanship and quality for the money.
By Cheshyre from Ann Arbor, MI on 08/06/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Good Cut, Lightweight, Versatile, Warm Best Uses: Daily Use, Going Out, Outdoor Activities Describe Yourself: Trendy/Stylish Dresser Sizing: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I fell in love with this jacket after seeing the vest version at a local store for [$]. Luckily, STP has come through again with an amazing deal.Materials: Top notch. Very, very comfortable against skin. Jacket is stretchy to allow movement even though it fits fairly closely. It's not as fitted as, say, a Mountain Hardwear softshell or Patagonia fleece. Warm. Extremely windproof - blowing into the fabric produces no perceptible airflow on the other side. However, seems to be still somewhat breathable. The armpit vents will help with this.Features: Very large pit zip vents. There are stretchy cuffs at the wrists to help block wind. The hem of the jacket can be cinched. Zipper pulls are very large to allow for ease of use with gloves. Has enough room under it to allow some layering, definitely a thermal longsleeve shirt, maybe even a thin sweatshirt on top of that. Small enough to be layered over, so long as you're not putting a super fitted softshell over it. Napoleon pocket.Look: I'm 5'5.5", 140 lbs with fairly broad shoulders and the fit is great. By the other reviews, I was kind of hoping for the super-fitted look, but it's not that tight. I found the fit to be just fine though. This jacket is awesome. One of the best purchases I've made off Sierratradingpost.
