I stumbled upon this sweater by accident and bought two of them at the same time. I absolutely love them and plan to wear them all winter.
By PhillyProf from Philadelphia, PA on 10/27/2009 Describe Yourself: Classic, Practical Length: Feels true to length Sleeve Length: Feels too long Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Got this in a large for my broad-shouldered but slim husband, and he was absolutely swimming in it. It's cut very wide through the body - sized more like an XL, but probably not long enough for anyone over 6.' The wool was quite itchy and the bulky seam finishing looked a bit cheap, but the unusual yellowish-brown color was quite nice -- sort of an ochre.
By Steamer 817 from Warren, NJ on 10/21/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, High Quality, Stylish, Versatile, Warm Best Uses: Casual Wear, Everyday, Going Out, Travel Describe Yourself: Classic, Comfort-oriented, Practical Chest Size: Feels true to size Length: Feels true to length Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This year I decided to try wool sweaters again, the cotton ones just didn't cut it last year with the cold. I bought two from Columbia because I like the quality, the style, the fit and the cost. All of these features exceeded my expectations and I'd buy another one in a heartbeat!
Cheap wool from China - Literally Stinks By prosperare from Ohio, the Heart of it All! on 10/18/2009 Pros: Breathable, Stylish, Versatile, Warm Cons: Itchy Material, Washes Poorly Best Uses: Casual Wear, Everyday, Travel Describe Yourself: Classic, Comfort-oriented, Practical, Stylish Chest Size: Feels true to size Length: Feels true to length Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Be forewarned. I purchased this a few months ago and was about to give this a rave review, when after wearing it several times (because I liked it to much), I decided to wash it. I followed the instructions on the label, namely, hand washed it in cold water. OH MY GOODNESS -- if you've been around for a while and know what cheap, untreated wool does when wet, you'll immediately know what I'm about to say. The SMELL!!! Took me some time to get the stench out of my house. Had to bag up the wet sweater and throw it away, it was so bad. No joke. Lovely sweater, until you have to wash it. Columbia really missed it on this one. Cheap, untreated wool from China. Should have spent more for J.D. Glover or similar quality wool products. Save you pennies and look elsewhere.
