Vasque always great-but these too narrow By rdh from Santa Barbara, CA on 09/03/2009 Pros: Ankle Support, Great Traction, Sturdy/Durable, Water Resistant Cons: Med width too narrow Describe Yourself: Casual/Recreational Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Great product. Am returning because size 13 medium width is too narrow. The new lacing system is intriguing. But I think I would miss the old fashioned laces because I can make some sections tighter/looser than others but the new laces make the tension uniform. But if the width had been ok, I would have probably kept the boots and tried out the new lacing system.

By Dang' from New England on 08/17/2009 Pros: Ankle Support, Arch Support, Comfortable/No Break-In, Flexible, Great Traction Best Uses: Long-Distance Hiking, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Havn't had the opportunity to really pound and test the boots. Been out twice on short hikes and they feel great, just the right amount of support without giving up comfort. I feel these boots will serve me well over the next two years. The BOA lacing system is very competent. Laces are now a thing of the past.
By Finally Happy Footed from Oregon on 08/17/2009 Pros: Ankle Support, Arch Support, Comfortable/No Break-In, Great Traction, Warm Best Uses: Day Hiking, Harsh Terrain, Long-Distance Hiking Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Plenty of room in the toe box, which is important to me since I have a Morton's Neuroma to contend with. Absolutely LOVE the lacing system. It provides perfectly even pressure along the length of the laces.
By Tom the Skier from Steamboat Springs, CO on 08/13/2009 Pros: Ankle Support, Arch Support, Great Traction, Lacing system superb, Sturdy/Durable, Water Resistant Best Uses: Day Hiking, Harsh Terrain, Light Loads Describe Yourself: Professional/Guide Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Very stiff boot. I will wear them and, hopefully, they will loosen up. The Vibram sole is very good on rock and ankle support is almost too good. I really like the lacing system.
By Sasquatch P. from Brookfield, WI on 08/08/2009 Pros: Ankle Support, Arch Support, Great fit, Great Traction, Sturdy/Durable, Water Resistant Best Uses: Day Hiking, Everyday, Harsh Terrain, Heavy Loads, Light Loads, Long-Distance Hiking, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels half size too big Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I just returned from a backpacking trip with these, and I have to say they were perfect. I never thought of my feet, which is a great compliment for a new boot. I lightly broke them in before I went. The traction was great on mud, stone, and in the water. They also edged VERY well. I learned to trust the tread by the end of the first day. The ankle support is fantastic; and the arch support is PERFECT. They are a great boot. I have a narrow heal, plantar issues, and an average forefoot. They really worked well for me. NO morning soreness in my feet.
Too narrow and not very comfortable By Gregg from Chicago, IL on 08/04/2009 Best Uses: Day Hiking, Everyday, Light Loads Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I liked the weight of the boot, but wished it was more comfortable and made better. I slipped them on and started walking around the house and quickly knew they were too narrow. My feet are a normal width, so I was surprised they were squeezing my toes and foot. Besides the toe squeeze, they did not feel like they had any cushioning under my foot.I ended up purchasing Zamberlan Vioz GT Hiking Boots from [@]($250.00) and they are awesome. I tried over 10 different boots in my quest to find the "right one". Extremely comfortable, well made, aggressive sole and great for a heaver pack. I've been breaking them in for the past two weeks and it doesn't feel like I needed to. I will be going to the "Lost Coast" in California in two weeks and I am looking forward to wearing them. They may be a little heaver, but the will last and give me the support I need. The moral of the story is; you need to try lots of boots. What works for me may not work for you and it's all about comfort and what you plan to use them for.PS – After I placed my order I called Sierra Trading to see if I could add something to it and they told me it was too late. By Groundskeeper from West Finley, PA on 07/06/2009 Pros: Ankle Support, Comfortable/No Break-In, Great Traction, Sturdy/Durable Cons: No Gaiter Attachments, Tad Too Large Best Uses: Day Hiking, Everyday, Harsh Terrain, Weekend Backpacking, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Casual/Recreational, Outdoor enthusiast Sizing: Feels half size too big Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Vasque did a goog job on this boot, I like trying out new stuff from good companies that have a good track record with me. The lacing system does work well and the general boot quality itself is tops. Has good traction, stable foot support and comfortable. Lacing trick: lean forward or pull toe up while tightening to secure lacing at boot base, then point toe down and finish off. Tweaking tightness is a snap, reach down and twist a click or two. I havent gone real tight with them yet, will wait until they conform to my feet. I am a gaiter fan because all my walking is in woods and I constantly kick dirt, twigs and debris up that finds its way in the boots and there is no way to secure gaiters to these boots. I will eventually come up with my own system for that. I also ordered a half size large, seems almost all boots lately have been running small, not these. Sent back for correct size and they are still a tad too large but it really is no big deal, better a tad big than a tad small!
