Excellent boot - easy "in and out" By The Tonalator from North Central New Mexico on 06/01/2009 Pros: Ankle Support, Comfortable/No Break-In, Great Traction, Sturdy/Durable, Warm, Water Resistant Best Uses: Cold Weather, Day Hiking, Everyday, Light Loads, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Casual/Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I use these more for outside work around the house than hiking, but I'll use them for that too. They are 'hands free' to step into and quick release-open up wide instantly step-out-of which is great for going in and out of the house (a marriage saver if you get my drift); regular lace-up boots are too much of a hassle to untie and retie on frequent in-and-out of the house trips so you end up traking mud in the house. They are warm and very comfortable, good ankle support. Never had these 'weird' wire-lacing system closures before but I really like it - as snug or loose as you dial it in and it stays at that tightness - no slipping of the laces.
By Lokanar from Central PA on 05/26/2009 Pros: Comfortable/No Break-In, Great Traction, Water Resistant Describe Yourself: Casual/Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These boots are quite comfortable. They stick well to most surfaces and I have not had any problems with durability or waterproofness. However the best thing about these boots is the BOA laces. You can put these boots on in twenty seconds and take them off in less then five! Great feature after long day of hiking.
By Homeslice from Colorado on 05/07/2009 Pros: Ankle Support, Comfortable/No Break-In, Great Traction, Sturdy/Durable, Warm, Water Resistant Cons: Cams have no quick-cinch Best Uses: Day Hiking, Everyday, Harsh Terrain Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer, Casual/Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: For my size, 10.5 or 44-45 euro, I would say these are a true fit (ordered 10.5) but run SLIGHTY narrow in the towbox. If you ever run into problems generally with narrow shoes and always prefer wide box footwear (Lake cycling, new balance, whatever) you might get some "little-toe" rub especially during long heavy hikes. The lace system is awesome especially if you are like me and constantly tripping over eyelet lace hikers. Removing a 40lb pack to tie your shoes all the time is just UNCOOL. If I was to order again I doubt I'd go a size up unless it was strictly for cold weather, and if that was the case I'd choose a better, warmer, more waterproof boot. I am able to slip an arch support insole into these, (cutting out some of the toe area) and wear a thin sock. There is NO heel lift and the soles are wide, stable, stiff and grippy. These are light compared to rubber and leather boots.
