Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Comments:
Second pair of Lowas I have had. First pair I have had for years and even used shoe goo on the soles to keep them going for a few more months. Tops and insoles outlasted the outer soles, but gave me a good 5 years of service.

Stable Great Fit
By Sco from Cave Creek,AZ on 11/13/2009
Pros:
Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Stable
Cons:
Heavy, Squeaks
Best Uses:
Day hikes
Describe Yourself:
Avid Adventurer
Sizing:
Feels half size too small
Width:
Feels too narrow
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Comments:
I hike on rugged mountain trails 25-30 miles per week. My foot is 13.5 and C width so the Lowa in 14 fits me perfectly. It is a little stiffer than a normal trail shoe giving it great stability and hopefully long wear.

Have bought three pairs of Lowa trail shoes over the years--quite durable but generally feels a half size too small. They have been comfortable with good support.

Very good shoe at a geat price. Very comfy after wearing it for a couple days, it was a little tight at first. Quality looks to be excellent, not made in China.

Comments:
I've had these for almost 2 months. I wear them almost daily. They are a bit warm for the middle-of-the-summer, but nothing I can't handle with some cycling/running socks. They are a bit heavy, but you can't feel the weight once you get going. The soles are a bit thick, but they still feel pretty stable. I wouldn't recommend these for hardcore hiking; the traction isn't there (look at the soles). For average hikes, should be no problem. There was no option for 1/4 size too big, but that's how they feel.

Looks a bit chunky, but the pay off is its very stable. Good for a narrower foot too. Comfortable right out of the box.
