Lowa Khumbu is a Home Run By Old Smokejumper from Casper WY on 08/16/2009 Pros: Ankle Support, Arch Support, Comfortable/No Break-In, Great Traction, Water Resistant Best Uses: Day Hiking, Harsh Terrain, Heavy Loads, Long-Distance Hiking, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Casual/Recreational Sizing: Feels half size too small Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I haven't had these boots long but have made two trips with them. I ordered the boots 1/2 size larger per review recommendations. The boots ere new out of the box and the fit seemed very good. Tested them on a 7 day hike with a heavy pack into the Scapegoat Wilderness in Montana. Hiked many miles on a mix of trails that included everything. Comfort and support is superb. Holds the heel well and they'll lace up as tight as you want. The 6 and 1/2 inch uppers are great for small creeks and keeping the dust out. No leaks. The second trip was the Middle Fork of Powder River Canyon. This trail is as steep and rocky as it gets. Traction and ankle support over rock and boulder is superb. Use wool socks and not cotton with these boots. Overall, A great boot. I'll really test them this fall hunting season but I beleive these boots will not disappoint.
By bigredabraham from Chicago, IL on 08/07/2009 Pros: Ankle Support, Great Traction, Sturdy/Durable Best Uses: Cold Weather, Harsh Terrain, Heavy Loads Describe Yourself: Casual/Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I expect to use these for years. There was one spot that will have to wear down before it is comfortable (hot spot), but not bad.

By Marine46 from San Diego, Ca on 06/12/2009 Pros: Ankle Support, Comfortable/No Break-In, Sturdy/Durable, Water Resistant Best Uses: Heavy Loads, Long-Distance Hiking Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels half size too small, Feels too small Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Great boot right out of the box. I bought the 10.5 and 11, my street shoes are always 10.5 but the 11 was the best fit in this boot for me. After a few days on the Pacific Crest Trail with 50 lbs i know these boots are up to the task of whatever you can throw at them. Lowa doesnt dissappoint.
