comfortable for long walks By Nina from Richmond, VA on 11/17/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Great Traction, Stable Best Uses: Day hikes, Everyday, Walking Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I walk about 26 miles a week. I need breathe-ability, light-weight and stability. All supplied by the ridgeline. I have plantar fasciitis and morton's nuroma and all I a wear are Keens. These Keens do not have the metatonimical footbed and I was concerned that they might be to spongy soft like running shoes, but they are supportive, firm and comfortable. Laces are on the shorter side, but are the kind that you don't have to double lace, as they don't come undone. And the off set lace up configuration prevents that feeling like you've over tightened on the top of the foot. I like the light weight nature of these shoes the most. I didn't give 5 stars, as the Keens with the metatonomic foot bed definitely have that extra something-something.

However, the color is a sort of dark taupe brown, and the accent color is orange, not "inca gold" as pictured. Order 1/2 size up.

By MJ from Alabama on 11/02/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Stable Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels half size too small Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: A great mild weather hiking shoe with rugged soles that get great traction. SIZES run small so you must order 1/2 half size larger as stated in product description. Great colors and fit comfortably without need to "break in". Can transition well from trails to casual attire.
