By joe blow from boulder, co on 09/03/2009 Best Uses: Backpacking, Car Camping Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Got the primus primelight and the Princeton tec aurora. I was not impressed with the primus and very impressed with the aurora. The luxeon bulb on the primus is just not that bright (I found the three leds of the aurora just as bright) and you cannot have the luxeon bulb and the led's on at the same time. I also found the light relatively bulky and the two button control counter intuative
sorry, I'm sticking with led's only
By stevie bahadur from santa barbara california on 09/03/2009 Pros: Adjustable Beam, Band holds onto head well, Bright, Durable, Easy to turn on and off, Stable Best Uses: Backpacking, Car Camping Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: A good headlamp that provides optional beams for different uses. The headband works well ( many headlamps are weak here) which is important as you can work or climb or what ever without continually grabbing the head band to keep it on. The only drawback is price .
By Dr Bob in the Bronx from Bronx, NY on 08/28/2009 Pros: Adjustable Beam, Bright, Durable, Long battery life, Well designed Best Uses: Backpacking, Hiking Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: As with most Primus products this lamp is well thought out. There is one central "hot" LED and six bright LEDs that can be turned on separately or together. The hot LED draws more power but projects farther, like a car's high beams. Even the semi-translucent storage sack has been designed to further diffuse/mute the light, say to hang in a tent. Primus makes classy stuff.
By jackie the houseplant from plattsmouth, ne on 08/27/2009 Pros: Adjustable Beam, Bright Best Uses: Backpacking, Day trip, Hiking Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: We walk in the mornings when it's still dark, and this lightweight light is the cat's pajamas. It provides good illumination, and is so easy to adjust where the beam falls. I've spent lots more money for a product I wasn't nearly as happy with.
